Last night we had a great meal at La Mamma. The food was beautifully cooked, huge selection to choose from, and the service friendly and fast. A really enjoyable experience for the four of us. Highly recommended.

What's not to like!! The food is amazing, the staff are so lovely - it's a great restaurant. Wish I lived locally so that I could come here more often. Fantastic food.
Fab food, really relaxed friendly atmosphere. The staff were great with our group of noisy hens and went out of their way to help us celebrate my daughter's hen do. Thank you for giving us an amazing evening.

My favourite restaurant. Food is always lovely. I always have a prawn cocktail and tortellini alla mama and I enjoy it every time. Service is quick and always friendly! Best Italian in Christchurch by far !! Much better than the chains!!!
What a brilliant restaurant. It was absolutely packed out. We counted 5 groups celebrating birthday meals. The staff were exceptionally nice and I don't know how they managed with all the orders and still had time for a sense of humour.
The food was everything you would expect from a decent Italian restaurant. So all in all a superb time was had by our table of six.
We will definitely return. Well done La Mamma.
We visited on a very busy Saturday evening, and sat a table by the outside seating area which was lovely.
Lots of staff, quite a young team but all very helpful and they worked hard.
Food was great, soup, king prawns, pizzas, sea bass, apple pie and delicious cheesecake.
Very good specials board.
Very relaxed and chilled atmosphere, and the happy birthday song makes for a great evening out.
First time visiting and I was met with lovely staff, who made you feel welcome, and are also very accommodating if you wanted items on your food changed. Nothing was too big of an ask for them and they did everything with a smile
Food was fantastic, my partner had a pizza and I had the carbonara which I have to say was the best I have ever eaten.
As we visited at lunch time, we received the lunch time deal which was any pizza, pasta, or salad for £9.95. As the portions are not small this is a brilliant deal.
Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely be returning

Jess could not have been more helpful, moving us from a small noisy table in the bar area, to a spacious table in the main restaurant. She was attentive and knowledgeable and went out of her way to be helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, and we can't wait to return.
Opened in December 2019 under new owner and management and very impressed with the high quality of fresh home made cooking using only British meat, fish and veg using local suppliers.
Been twice to the restaurant and enjoyed all our dishes. On our recent visit we had the good value 3 course set lunch menu with Sticky BBQ Chicken wings with garlic & herb mayo and the crispy squid followed by fish & chips and the pulled pork tacos with a harissa mayo & burnt corn salsa. Finished up with the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.
Delicious food and great to come back during the day for snacks and drinks in the bar area.
Will come back to try the Sunday roast but make sure you book as the weekend can get busy.
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, is was our first time back to La Mamma's in 7 years to celebrate 10 years of marriage, both the wife I enjoyed every mouthful of food from starter to pudding. The Lemon Roulade stole the show and all of this was made a delight by the staff.
Great food and atmosphere, one less star for service as we were not informed of certain items not available from menu. Also waitress was slightly slow in taking our orders and got some things wrong. Could have just been this particular girl was having a bad evening as she was very apologetic. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly return.

Excellent food, really very, very good.
On the night we (4) were there I think the staff were under severe pressure, seeming bothered, rushed, forgetful, the legendary 'La Mama' friendliness having the night off.
Too many covers squashed into too small a place (evening, indoors).
Early days, no doubt - as the new team gel, and in-house communication lines strengthen.
Go for the food.

We visited The Smugglers Run in Christchurch for dinner last Friday. The original building is 200 years old and believed to of been part of smuggling route (hence the name)
The newly refurbished extension area is much more in keeping with the pubs style.
Plenty of booths for group dining inside and seating outside in the warmer weather - we loved the Reggae festival a few weeks ago with live music and a bbq.
We ate from the newly developed Autumn menu and thoroughly enjoyed the terrine and pigeon for starters and short ribs that fell off the bone (although quite rich) and our very first taste of Venison this year. We chose a Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Port Roasted plums all washed down with a glass of Malbec and a berry infused gin.
The burgers looked great too - maybe next time.
Absolutely brilliant night for a surprise 50th birthday! The staff at La mamma's were so lovely and accommodating with such a large group of us. Highly recommended.
