We didn’t book in advance but we’re greeted by extremely courteous staff and made to feel very welcome. Our order was taken promptly and we were served with a most delicious meal of Piri piri king prawns with chorizo followed by the thickest cod steak I have ever eaten! My wife’s starter and main course was equally enjoyable! Certainly not cheap - but excellent value worth every penny! Will visit again.

What a great meal. Lovely setting and service was superb. One of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Location is great and parking nearby. Price was reasonable and we all had a great time. If I lived closer it would be my local !

I love this place,my favorite in Christchurch. I immediately felt home when I get there, warm atmosphere and good music. I had few great cocktails. Perfect service, and great knowledge of mixology science. It was a pleasure try the different cocktails that Andy ( the barman) mixed for me. It's rare finds someone so passionate for his work and with his talent! Definitely I'll come back!
Went in for a glass of water to take a headache tablet and the lady at the bar was so nice and kind we stayed for a couple of drinks. Then ended up having lunch and a bottle. Great staff, very friendly. Can't wait to go back again. Thank you to everyone.

A lovely location, in sight of the RIver and the boats, the bandstand and the green, good service, lovely coffee. Main course not cheap but beautifully done and served.
As always, we had a fabulous afternoon.
The service & food was excellent; and the Sunday afternoon live music all added towards another great dining experience. The boathouse have got it exactly right. Well Done! We'll be back again very soon.
I hired the Chandelier Bar for a surprise party for my wife and could not be happier with the venue, food and service we received. The location was perfect and the venue itself was lovely. The booking process was simple and nothing was left to chance. The views are of course stunning. A wonderful place to spend a few hours, I definitely made the right choice with the Boathouse!
Food excellent and hot, service great as not rushed. Price is competitive. Staff very helpful and attentive. Really friendly and easy going atmosphere. Superb views of the Town Quay from the restaurant. Definitely visit again if in this area. Thank you.
Lovely restaurant and bar. We only went for a few drinks. They have plenty of outdoor and sheltered seating. There is a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits. It is close to the marina and has some nice views.
Great food, great service. We have been coming here for years. Its always busy but it's really well staffed so service is always good. Book ahead though as walk ups are always limited. Great menu with something for everyone. The ribs are great.

A sophisticated and stylish venue with a welcoming and relaxing ambience. The service is impeccable. Our starters of seared scallops and cod taco were delicious. The main og mussels in cream and chives the vest for us in many years. My main of King Prawn linguine was outstanding.
Popped in for breakfast on Bank Holiday Monday, hadn’t booked so well weren’t sure what to expect re. Table availability, we offered to sit anywhere and were, surprisingly, provided with an outdoor table to enjoy the sunshine as long as we were done within an hour as the table was needed… no problem! Very friendly staff, great atmosphere.
I had a Full English and my husband had the Vegan alternative, both were very flavoursome, made with great produce and a good portion size to make us full but not overly so. The bacon was the highlight for me and the spinach & avocado for my husband.
The only down side was that our coffees, which we ordered straight away, arrived after our food had arrived so we were waiting quite a bit for our caffeine fix, but the coffee was really good.

Great venue with a buzzy atmosphere, the service is friendly and attentive. On the pricey side for what it is. Read the menu carefully as there are add on costs to the price for many of the dishes. However if you want to keep it simple there is a great pizza section. Cocktails are good and there is often live music. They handle large groups well if you are celebrating or having a get together.
Visited Friday night for a meal as we heard they had a great gluten free menu. It didn’t disappoint. Huge selection of food and the staff there were impeccable. Table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived but got a drink from the bar on the table tab, and just after we received our drinks the table was ready. Lots of table staff which were very responsive and not too intrusive. Great atmosphere and will definitely visit again.

The food was great, one of our party had the wrong meal delivered so she had to wait while it was cooked. This is not the place to come for a quiet meal - babies, dogs and drunk people made sure of that but a great atmosphere for a few drinks. Cosy by the wood burner.
I only went to do a balloon decoration installation, but upstairs is a stunning venue for a private function & downstairs is very vibrant with a great atmosphere. If I lived nearer, I would definitely be a regular visitor
We sat overlooking the bandstand while sipping a cappuccino. The Boathouse is impeccably clean and attractive and was a lovely place to spend some time. But we wanted to give a special mention to the waiting staff who were exceptional - warm, friendly, extremely efficient and professional. They are a real asset to the business. Next time we visit Chichester, we're heading for The Boathouse for a meal and I know we'll really enjoy the experience.

Very popular with tourists and locals. Gets incredibly busy so advised to book! Went for my 60th birthday.
Make sure you ask for a proper table for parties over 5 as they might try to seat you at a low coffee table.
Has an upstairs bar which seems to be full of boat owners and locals.
Live music was nice.

Wonderful, dog friendly restaurant with excellent views of the river.
First time at the boathouse. It's well attended by many silver haired folk and sense of people being well off, but had a nice feel inside. Staff are polite and friendly and accommodating.
Was sat in a dog friendly and kids area but wasn't a hassle to be moved to another table on this occasion.
Food was very quick to arrive and well cooked and fresh. Duck wrap was nice and chips had a nice crunch to them.
Would like to return.
I taken my partner there for a meal and it was amazing. Great staff. Amazing food and a fantastic view. 100 percent would recommend
