Cannot comment on food as I was just calling in after a mission to an angling tackle shop. Great selection of beers, super atmosphere, and a warm Welcome Currently on a break in the heat of the day. After visiting Coppul Anglers for tackle supplies and some maggots for when the grandson comes visiting at Heskin Old Hall fishery Thursday. Could not pass the ‘Original Farmers Arms’ as I needed change for all the honesty boxes on this A49 tour (now calling it part 1 as there is so much to cover). Whilst refreshing myself I asked ‘why is it called the ‘Original’? Answer was ‘because it is the original one in the village’ It is good to be ‘ome 😅

It was pretty quiet when we called but people were having meals and the vibe was friendly and relaxed. There is some outside seating and plenty of parking spaces. Worth calling in if you are passing. We didn't try the food.

So lucky to have The Original Farmer's Arms as our local.....fantastic food with the ambiance and welcome of a traditional village pub! And if you're not in the mood for socialising.....the take-out is amazing too!

First class food. Just try their Sunday roast! The service is first class, always with a smile and efficient. The atmosphere is what local pubs used to be like. Friends gathered with foaming tankers, their dogs laid at their feet. I love this place.

Went for Sunday lunch and it was probably one of the best meals we've had for a while, excellent proportions and tasted proper homecooked, just like going to Nanna's house, including the pudding! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Excellent value for money. We will be back, highly recommended.

We had a family meal here and couldn't fault anything to do with the food, drink or service. The set meal is amazingly good value. They weren't stingy on the portions either and we all left full.

A quick pit stop for lunch. Vast menu, I only wanted a quick bite, but you still have to have a look. We ordered two sandwiches and chips - that was my other half! Sandwiches were fresh, mine was a hot chicken and the other, thick sliced ham, this came cold. It came with a fresh crisp side salad and some crisp! (Said we didn't need the chips! ) Altho, I recommend sharing a bowl just to sample , lovely ,chunky quite irresistible ( yes we almost finished them ).
