I’ve Never had a bad meal here and the service is always fabulous! It is a Great place for big family/friend occasions- as they can hold larger parties, and the food always comes out all together and it’s always hot and fresh even though you have to pre order for bigger reservations. It’s a great place for date night, or a just a little family treat for lunch/dinner etc. Both my kids love it, even though my eldest can be fussy when it comes to food, he always finishes all of his food here, which is not something he does often. The Staff are all very accommodating with extra needs ie health conditions/ extra requirements/food intolerances. And check in on you from time to time (for drinks, extra sauces, crayons/paper for the kids etc)
Lots of seating inside and plenty more outside for the warmer months. 🙌🏼 lots of parking. There are also disabled facilities available as well as child changing. 🤍
Visit this place for the second time and i can confirm that it worth a visit.. quite location an nice interiors.. the staff is very attentive and good food is delicious and tge portions are big. Definitely recommend it
Sunday buffet was amazing! Large selection of different meats, veg and potatoes. Great list of desserts. Very well priced. Staff could do with being a little more organised. Definitely will be a regular visit.
Prawns & Kievs for mains - which were both divine! Prawns did come back later on in the evening though but that is probably a one off!!
Then the honey nugget & the cookie dough cheesecake for pudding - which were both average. Expected the nuggets to be crunchy but they were soft and the cheesecakes just weren’t very flavoursome.
The staff were super friendly and it is fairly priced. Will be returning 😊
We have been twice and the first time I would have given 5 stars, however, this time, I'd rate at 3 and so I've gone in the middle. We thought the carvery was amazing the first time, however, this time everything was cold, the gammon seemed undercooked and the Yorkshire puddings were tough, not even crispy, just tough. However, the melting chocolate pudding was amazing. We then also have to wait at the bar for 5 minutes to pay because there was only one person serving and they were taking drinks orders too. All in all, if this has been our first time there, we wouldn't be going again, certainly not for a carvery.
15 of us came for Christmas dinner. Staff was amazing and so attentive. Food was amazing too. Fantastic work guys and thank you for working Christmas Day to make it special for others. Would definitely recommend
I didn’t even know this pub existed until I found it on the CaskFinder app. Goes to show how the app brings in custom. Great ale, the food looks good and the place is very well turned out.

Absolutely lovely pub!!! Great food. The ugly eating challenge beat me by approx 2 bites of a burger. Definitely not one for the faint of hearts!

We go to the Astley a lot and always enjoyed it. So we decided to have our Golden wedding anniversary party there last night. It was superb. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make our special occasion even more special. Big thanks to them all and thanks again for all your help. As a regular Green Crab customer, I appreciate and am used to a high standard of good pub food at reasonable prices, excellent service and clean pleasant surroundings.
On Friday 8th September, I went for lunch to the Astley Village Inn for the first time. As with all my previous experiences within the group, internally, everything met the usual standard.
My overall experience was spoiled when approaching the main entrance from the car park I saw that the area immediately in front of the door was heavily littered with old cigarette stubs and other detritus which had obviously been there a considerable time.
I had invited a lady to lunch and had chosen the Astley because of my past experience within the group and the Astley’s location equidistant from both our homes.
I was the first to arrive and my initial impression on approach was that it was a dump and I began to regret making the booking and extending the invitation to the lady I had invited.
I entered reluctantly anticipating cancelling my reservation, to find the usual standard of welcome and service.
We both enjoyed our respective quality meals.
The maxim that ‘First impressions count’, applies here. A small effort with a broom would make a great deal of difference to prospective customers.
The food here is surprisingly fantastic. Recommend Phoenix burger & salt & pepper chicken salad. Was my first visit but definitely won't be my last!

Wow where do I start?
Went here last Sunday for Carvery not mention about other foods we've been very surprised in a good way .
The carvery for the price is far better than at Toby Carvery not mention about the price.
The price was astonishing only £10.99 p.p the quality went beyond our beliefs. BIG FAT THANK YOU for this.
The size could be larger maybe planning permission for extension expansion of this buisnbes worth be putting on the table and discusses over table with the management and staff.
The only downsize which we've been witnessed is fact that easily anyone might walk away without paying the bill.
Where on 🌎 is your awareness and cautiones the message to the management pay attention to it get payment in advance for order anything.
Do upgrade the booking system instead of using old fusion way on paper crossing out tables which are /are not available.
Do take urgent action for better and prompt service particularly waiters nobody has abilities 'read between lines or so'
All in all I highly recommend going there particulary for location and family spirit in that floating everywhere.
Well done guys hopefully you take this review very seriously and promptly.

Really nice food with lots of choice. Service was excellent considering we were a large party (around 25) the food came quickly, freshly cooked and staff were great.
Loved my evening out here. Prices were reasonable, staff were amazing and the food was great value for money. Highly recommended. I will definitely go back.
Great food, great laid back atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and happy to help.
Our son told one of the waiting staff that our dog was thirsty and she went and got her a big bowl of water without hesitation.

Service was also prompt as we met as some staff were moving on to better futures.
Really nice pub, plenty of seats available both inside and outside. It has the same menu as the Midge Hall on the other side of Leyland, and good quality food. Well priced, a little higher than your standard pub but well worth it.
