Updated review - having had a chat with Glen, we went back to give the Spinners a second try. I have to say it was well worth it. The food was superb, Fiona's stroganoff was excellent my lamb shank still superb and tasty and the cheesecake is to die for . I have changed my previous 3 star to a deserved 5 star rating
We will be back regularly . Everyone in our group had a great meal and the servers were excellent and really helped make the night s good one , I can only say that our previous experience was on a vary rare blip.
Please ignore my previous comments as from talking to friends who go regularly, this didn't reflect their experience at all .
Previous review - Brlliant local family run pub and cozy atmosphere with good beer. My lamb shank was delicious but my wife’s stroganoff with rice seemed very overpriced at £17 for a pot of beef with rice .
We both opted for the apple and rhubarb crumble and custard - this was very poor , served in a small pot, the fruit was very good but the “crumble” topping was uncooked, out of a packet crumb that left an awful aftertaste . Even the excellent but tiny portion of custard didn’t mask the awful crumble topping .
This was our first visit for a meal and having heard really good things about Spinners we left feeling a little disappointed and overall didn’t feel we had value for our £51 . The surly waitress didn’t add to the atmosphere .
Just got back from yet another unreal meal - it’s just a really nice place to go where all the staff cannot do enough for u - the food is mouth watering and once again all I can say is Thank You - we entered a competition and won a free meal here but seriously we would have paid for what we’ve just eaten and then to throw the drinks in too just goes to show how much customer service u get from this place - highly recommend going here - u will not be disappointed �
A prize winning breakfast.I won the competition on facebook for a free full english breakfast for two. We arrived this morning and were greeted by pleasant and attentive staff. The breakfast came and it looked amazing and tasted superb. Everything on the plate was fresh and really good quality. We have eaten here before but never had a breakfast but we will certainly return for another. Probably the best breakfast we have had and on the plus side its on our doorstep.
We had a great Sunday lunch here. A late birthday meal. The food was brilliant. I had cheese and onion pie, hubby had lamb shank and son had duck. All of them were gorgeous, we had a couple of desserts and coffee and a few drinks. The price is really good for the quality of the meal, service atmosphere. I would definitely recommend booking as it was very busy. The staff were all knowledgeable and attentive. Will be going back regularly. Son still goes on about the sauce with the duck and its over a month since wd went.
Malcolm & I thoroughly enjoyed our meal last night, as did everyone in our party. Excellent food - well presented & tasty; quick, efficient service from both the waitresses. Good choice of tap beers. Brilliant local, family run pub.

We won the Valentines competition, my hubby had already booked a table for the same evening as a surprise ha ha!! Lucky Us!!
The restaurant is very busy but each customer is given the highest customer service with great attention to detail. Food is top quality and my fillet steak cooked to perfection (I’m very fussy with steak) the cheesecake amazing. My daughters made to feel extremely welcome on what normally would be a couples romantic evening. Thanks to Glen and all the staff for a wonderful evening.
Anywhere that's full on a Tuesday evening must be good! And it was. Amazing food & staff. Piping hot food served with a smile by friendly staff.
Can't wait for an excuse to go back after enjoying the dinning so much.
Our third visit to Glen's place and once again the food was excellent. Jeff had the mussels followed by gammon and I had the garlic mushrooms and the catch of the day. Really superb; staff are friendly, efficient and attentive.
Another great meal in this wonderful pub. Amazing food, lovely atmosphere & fantastic service. Can't wait for our next visit. And the bacon & black pudding salad is unbelievable, 5 stars �

Unassuming from the outside, but a very warm, friendly atmosphere within. Can’t fault the attitude of the staff & food was delicious. The duck breast was cooked perfectly. Would recommend if you’re looking for a different venue to sample 🍴
My favourite pub ever. Good food, service and very friendly. They take dogs also. There's an area outside which is in the sun all day. It's reasonably priced and when it's busy we've always been accommodated, once we'd been on a walk and there were 10 of us and although we had to wait a while we were sat down all together and had a super meal. I'd definitely recommend The Spinners at Cowling.

Good food as always, had the king prawns for starter which was delicious and pork belly for main which tasted great, only disappointment was that it was not crispy as described. Service was friendly however a little slow considering it was a quiet Thursday evening.
Had a lovely meal here whilst hiring a canalboat. Its just off the canal with easy places to more up and they accommodated a big party (pre-booked and ordered) and the meal was spot on. Great food and wide choice on the menu. Would recommend.

Went for the first time yesterday and then found out its "Munchy Monday" and the prices are amazing!
£13 for a three course meal of excellent food that would normally cost more than triple that.
They also havnt skimped on the quality or quantity as they are both amazing.
The service was also 5* as the waitresses were very professional and friendly, some things on the menu must have run out or unavailable but they put other things as an alternative that was just as nice.
I will absolutely reccomend and will be back next Monday.

First visit but definitely not the last. Came for my husband's birthday and it didnt disappoint. Lovely atmosphere and the food was great. Friendly staff too.
Mid week catch up with family. Great menu , lovely service and the food lived up to expectations 😋 will definitely be back ... numerous times I suspect!
We had an issue with our vegetarian food being below standard for the price. After highlighting the issue with the staff they went above and beyond to rectify the issue and changed the meal. We ended up with the vegetarian curry which was delicious and the staff didn't make us feel awkward for complaining.
Food was excellent. I ordered the starter of baked camembert and a main of seafood stir fry. Had enough room for the sticky toffee pudding!!!
Plenty of room for the 6 people, staff were friendly and attentive. We ate in the conservatory. Was a bit noisy at first as it was a small room but we enjoyed it. Highly recommended place to go for food.
Had Fillet steak with Diane sauce which was SUPERB and cooked exact to order. Desert was chocolate fondant which was also excellent, however, the first one that came out had burst (and at £7) it was rightly sent back, which meant my partner ate theirs whilst I waited a further 20 mins for the 2nd attempt of mine to arrive. When it did arrive it was as good as I could have asked for! The staff were friendly and helpful but almost seemed over staffed with lots of different waiters/waitresses attending to us at various times throughout the night to ask questions that had been answered moments before to one of their colleagues (better than under staffed though!). On the whole, a lovely eatery with excellent, well prepared food. Definitely worth a visit.

Fab food! service is always with a smile, food always hot and tasty. Great atmosphere, its Family friendly ( and that includes the dog ) and now they do a breakfast service on the weekend! Fab little pub. the owners and staff can't do enough for you.
Awesome steak, cooked perfectly to my request & the Mrs had the House Chicken Curry which was also excellent 😋👌 Top notch grub!
First visit following a recommendation from a friend who lives in Chorley. Friendly and helpful staff, superb food at reasonable prices - what’s not to like? Pictured is their fish pie - delicious
