My husband and I went to the Imperial Arms Courtyard & Wine Bar last night and had a fantastic time. From the moment we walked in (the pub entrance, we were greeted by locals and lovely bar staff) they guided us to the Courtyard entrance - it was like opening a secret door to... As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the lovely landlady Tina. We were talked through the amazing French menu (not being a massive foodie, I didn't know where to start). Apparently it changes every 4 weeks - a great reason to keep going back!
We had the house red wine - incredible. The the food came out - 3 amazing courses that just kept getting better course by course. You can really tell the chef has a passion for French food!
To top it all off we were lucky to be in the presence of Elvis. The intimate setting made for a great evening, Elvis entertained us all.
The decor is very impressive, with each inch of the place being well thought through, with a great Napoleon feel.
I can only describe my experience as unique, relaxed and fun. It really is a hidden gem in Chislehurst and whilst I'd love to keep it my secret, I really do hope you can go and have the same experience we had.
Thanks so much Tina and the team!
Bloody amazing place! The food is excellent! The pub is a picture and the staff are so friendly and helpful!! Highly recommend! Can't wait to come at Christmas coz it's so bloody cozy too!! Well done imperial arm are a total treat!! xx
Great food and atmosphere with very friendly owners and staff .. the wine bar was a hidden gem too!
Excellent food and the staff are absolutely amazing as well as the customers! Highly recommend this lovely place!!!!
The magical Courtyard bistro has to be seen to be believed. Wonderful atmosphere great food, wine and live entertainment on a Thursday night, for what more could one ask.
Best pub and best food in Chislehurst and that's my opinion.Best landlord and a nice family to accompany him as well as his beautiful helpful staff.forget all the restaurants, they don't match up to the food there, cut a long story short, get your butt in there and you will not be disappointed ,that's a promise.

My first visit for many years to the “Impy” and a very pleasant surprise it was to discover I know the new owner and have for many years , the food was great and it’s a pleasure to be in a real pub and not a stupid theme bar I will return
Recently discovered this pub and can't think of a single criticism...great staff and atmosphere, good range of drinks and tried their Sunday roast today which was quite possibly the best I've had. Will be coming back often!
Best pub in Chislehurst by miles, lovely decor, great service, great beers and the food is fantastic!
Visited several times! Cosy pub with great staff & Amazing food! Hired the wine bar for a private function too which I Defo recommend!
Always visit this pub when visiting my daughter. A real community pub where everyone talks to you. The food is great and the beer is always in good condition.
We went on the off chance, so hadn't booked! We loved it from the moment we walked over the threshold. Fantastic warm atmosphere. Big smiles and a what a buzz. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The seating is comfortable and relaxing. We ordered Sunday roast. And we will for sure be returning! The food was delicious and there was more than plenty. Plenty of fresh veg, cooked to perfection. Flavourful meat. Roast potatoes just how I like them. And gravy! Thank you all for a delightful experience
Had a lovely evening. The staff are amazing, especially Russell. Food was great value for money. Already booked for Sunday lunch
Had a lovely late afternoon meal with my mum - excellent food and quality wine! Very friendly and love the Napoleonic deco. Looking forward to eating in the wine bar on another occasion. A little gem!
Beautiful old pub with lovely food! We sat in the external courtyard surrounded with flowers... And a cute, nosy boxer watching from his garden up above! 😂
Sydney was our wonderful, friendly and vivacious bar/waitress. The perfect blend of attentiveness, information and patience she ran up and down the stairs to the kitchen to check ingredients and availability for our friend and was graciousness itself- deserving of 5 stars already!
Our party had-Thai chicken curry (friend had allergies this was g/f & milk free)
Old Hill steak burger-"oh wow this is good! I think this is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time!" and the Korean Chicken burger-looks bizarre on arrival but "oh yum! So tasty! Oh the sweet crispy onion topping.... Mmm! I would definitely a) have this again b) return here especially for this!"
It was just the right degree of 'a bit different' and with the v tasty variety of flavours and textures ie the Asian slaw.
All plates completely cleared-not a regular occurrence!
Desert was a sticky toffee pudding: light and not too sweet- our friend had never had it before (due to allergies but it was g/f and Milk free) declared "This is the best desert I've had in a loooong time!" (ice cream was separate due to milk allergy as sharing desert-bit full! Lol)
Everyone in, and serving was so helpful & friendly- and v welcoming. Pub at weekends also has a Bistro also open: giving 3 dining options.
Limited Parking on a slope.
A mobile got left- staff were fantastic, contacting us by email to let us know.
A new favourite destination for us! Massive thank you to the Imperial arms team-from front of house to chef... a winning combination!
The staff were delightfully helpful, made room for us in the Bistro with a last minute booking. I see why they describe their Sunday roast as award winning, crispy potatoes, huge Yorkshire pudding, beautiful pink, thick sirloin beef and lovely gravey. We made the mistake of filling up on the artisan bread to start with (again, lovely).
Would definitely recommend for a Sunday lunch if you are in the area.
We were so full there was no room for desert sadly, will try next time!
Wow!!! The food was delicious, the staff were lovely, I definitely recommend this pub.
Awesome 👌
Popped in for lunch on Saturday as we’re new to the area - easily some of the best pub food I’ve ever had and reasonably priced. The fish and chips were delicious and there were lots of varied vegetarian options for my partner. Very friendly staff and a really cosy traditional pub feel. Will definitely visit regularly!
I visited here today (Tuesday) with my husband and 11 month old baby. Wow. The moment I entered at 12.01pm (just as they opened), I was greeted with a warm welcome and encouraged to bring in my family, without a booking. The staff were wonderful, the other guests were great fun and played with our baby. The food was amazing -I had scampi which was made on-site and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak with gravy. We will certainly come again as I hear their Sunday roasts are outstanding!
Update........
Tryed the fish Friday menu tonight and was delicious, plus you can still order from the bistro menu so plenty of choices including whole lobster and surf and turf.
There's a pre book Christmas menu available for the 1st-23rd of December which looks excellent value for money, small deposit required.
Great building with plenty of history.
Booked bistro for a Sunday roast dinner.
Foods good, does get very busy especially for Sunday lunches.
Nice bistro and courtyard.
Staff amazing! Professional, polite and attentive.
Will definitely revisit and try the fish menu available on Friday's.
Very limited parking.
Roast beef was delicious. Generous portions and the horse radish sauce was yum!! Staff are extremely attentive and very friendly. Will definitely be back.
Wow. It's probably the best beef roast I have had out. The meat was so tender and flavourful. It was a delicious. Very good value for money and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Service was very good.
If I had 1 little niggle, it was that you feel very on top of the tables next to you.
A lovely pub with outdoor seating in a beautiful little courtyard. Burgers were amazing and very fresh. The veggie chilli was a little disappointing, a little bland for my taste. The big plus is the staff, all very, very polite, helpful and a good sense of humour. It's definitely a place to visit.
I have many food intolerances and the knowledgeable staff put my mind at ease, that I could safely eat here. Hard to find a place that I can eat a roast dinner, with gluten free Yorkshire & gravy 👌 we were delighted with our hearty, fresh, tasty roast dinner, friendly staff, brilliant service & great range of drinks 😊
