What an amazing find. So firstly if you are new to this pub you have to understand the landlord has just taken over in the last 4/6months and is getting the important things right 1st. Beer 10/10 amazing Food 10/10. So the beer is well kept great taste refreshing & spot on (from a publican of 24 years experience.) The Food, this publican is also a 2 rosette chef . So menu has been reduced so it can cooked right, not disappointed. Well done. You are reminded at the start that it takes a wee bit of time as it's all cooked fresh. 9 people 30/40 mins. Have a rhubarb Gin from the 25 different gins with fever-tree tonic! (Someone knows their stuff). Then yes it was a wee wait, but worth every minute. Steaks perfect home made onion rings, hand cut chips. Kids had curry lightly spiced and well balanced, sausage & chips with beans. So butchers sausages, hell yes you can tell then smiles from the kids. Money - good honest value priced right. They will obviously start to increase their prices as they upgrade, totally understandable as the quality of what you get to the cost is inexpensive. Honest? You walk in, the pub is tired, but the teams energy is not. One step at a time you can see the important things are right. So enjoy its quirks. Your not in the city now, friendly locals & team alike. Take a torch as the road is busy on the way back. A worthy stop for any traveller. Massive thank you from us. The table of 9 that became an 8 as the eldest was tired. #amazing.

This picture was taken from the outside tables looking across to Chirk viaduct and aquaduct. Food was good with large portions, be sure you really want it if ordering a large Sunday roast as it's very large 😁. Friendly atmosphere and staff. You can park just up the road from the pub and walk to and across the aquaduct, well worth doing. You will be in noman's land at one point as you stand between England and Wales

Traditional pub with great views. Staff were really friendly and welcoming after a long day canal boating. Got to sample some great local beers and the food was great. Worth the walk down from the canal moorings 👍

Called in after a dog walk, very friendly bar staff and locals 😀the food was delicious, there was soo much ham, I couldn't eat it all, the burgers coming out looked immense! They have a separate menu for their burgers alone!! With every topping known!! We can't wait to come back for a burger and a Sunday dinner but it's advisable to book for Sundays! Lovely view of the aqueduct too from the beer garden!
