Have ordered from this establishment on several occasions and each time it has been a real joy. Bagels and fillings are always fresh, wholesome, tasty and perfectly prepared. Only very small but very quaint and well worth a visit on your trip into Ongar.
The tastiest bagels & coffee on a pit stop cycling day! The ladies on Sunday were very friendly and I'm so glad we stopped here. Will come again as I love their bagel combo's and the coffee is great!
Stumbled upon this little cafe whilst walking through Ongar high street. I had a really nice melted cheese & tomato bagel and a latte. The bagels were the non New York kind so soft and squidgy with barely a hole in the middle.
There are several tables inside and some benches outside.
The staff were very friendly and it was a nice stop for lunch/ a snack.
There were bagels and Nata on the counter and I would have bought some for takeaway but I wish they were covered up... they were in a basket in the open where customers talk over the counter to order.
Stopped in today for the first time as visiting area, for a spot of breakfast. It was raining and miserable outside and the shop front is tiny, but it does have a lower level with a seating area for about 12 people, which was very welcome as we did not relish a wet outside table and bench on this morning.
Breakfast was a sausage and bacon bagel (very nice) and an excellent coffee ✅ my Mrs had pot of tea (very good indeed) and a salt beef, mustard and pickel bagel (OK) but she is picky with fatty meat so said it was her not the quality. Total cost £16.
Friendly and pleasant staff and fast service, 👍
Called in here not long before closing, so could only have a takeaway, but chose to sit outside and enjoy our bagels whilst they were just freshly made.
Ordered a salt beef, pickle and mustard bagel for my partner. Tasted the salt beef, and it literally just melted in my mouth. Add to that the slight taste of dill pickle, and I almost regretted my choice.
I chose a sausage and bacon bagel. There was enough bacon in there to feed a family, but, lightly salted, crispy and hot, the bacon was perfect. Under the bacon was 2 or 3 sausages (had to guessl due to the amount of bacon present).
Combined together, this bagel came a very close 2nd to the salt beef bagel.
Highly recommended.
Great little cycling stop here for refueling and relaxing. Friendly staff, good for a nice little interesting chat. I had a good flat white and classic cream cheese smoked salmon (onion) bagel, which kept me going all the way to Welwyn Garden City. Very pleasant place to sit out of a morning feeling part of the high street scene for a while.
Declious yummy bagels and lovely staff, so helpful and friendly. Brilliant spot to watch the world go by!
Nice tasty food.
Nice friendly service.
First time here was just closing but no problem at all to make me up a quick salted steak bagel
To the bikers they open 8am Saturday 10am Sunday. Great stopping place on your ride. Couple benches outside if you don't want to sit in
Just make sure that you visit early... If you go around lunch time, there's gonna be a line of people waiting, and I'm saying this in the nicest way possible, because everyone wants to try the salt beef bagel, or the cream cheese and salmon, or the sausage and bacon bagel... Great place for different things bagel!
Very friendly staff and a very good range available freshly made for eat-in or takeaway. The shop's deceptively spacious with a very clean seating area. Excellent customer service, would definitely go back and recommend!
Lovely bagel shop, good variety of fillings. My only criticism is that the sauces (mustard, mayo ect) should be self service, we had two salt beef bagels today that were absolutely smothered in mustard.. which would have been fine if it was American mustard..not standard English mustard which was very over powering. We will definitely be back but will ask for any condiments on the side.
Small, friendly and welcoming staff that serve an array of bagels, rolls and sandwiches. You sit in comfortably and welcoming area to enjoy you break
A really good and friendly cafe, salt beef bagel was delicious, coffee was first class.
