Lovely coffee shop and gorgeous food. Had a delicious tuna melt tosstie and it felt very relaxed. Felt safe with covid precautions in place too. I'd definitely come back!

This place looks nice inside and was a good place to meet my friend for a catch up. Staff were lovely and so was the tea and scones. I would visit again.

Lovely family lunch. My wife, my 2 year old son and I had toasted sandwiches that were tasty and arrived quickly (ideal as we didn't have long before we had to catch the train back). Service was exemplary, friendly staff, all smiling (behind masks of course) and completed our requests for a high chair and extra sauce with pleasure. When we go back to Ongar we will not hesitate to stop off for a bite to eat. Latte was lovely too!! Thank you

Popped in to escape from a traffic jam and really glad I did. Late Sunday morning, quite busy but waitress appeared quickly with menu and ensure table was clean. Bit of a wait for the food but well worth it. All freshly prepared and hot. Very reasonable prices and wash room facilities were good. Highly recommended.

We were in Ongar to catch a bus to go on the Santa Express steam train and had reserved a table to have lunch. We were met at the door with a friendly smile and shown to our table. There were a couple of options for the menu and we all choose from the festive one. I had a turkey, stuffing and cranberry club sandwich which was very large and tasted great, my son had a bacon sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. Very good coffee.
I enjoyed a nice lunch here yesterday, a tasty Tuna melt with some salad on the side. The tables were a good distance apart and Covid compliant. The staff were polite and helpful.

This hasn't changed though - Shame other people have to inflict their uncontrolled screaming kids on everyone trying to enjoy a spot of lunch!

Been going here since it opened. At least once a week for three years. Excellent service. Impeccably clean. Consistently good food. Always gutted they have to have a day off and are closed on Mondays. Outrageous! π Would highly recommend over other places if you are looking for a quick bite in the vicinity.

Friendly staff and good honest food. Prices are what you would expect for a small independent tea room, so relatively reasonable depending on what you go for. The seating area is small and ca be awkward to navigate with a pushchair/wheelchair, so be warned. Parking across the street is easy enough, but be prepared to pay for this.
We had a lovely lunch, staff very welcoming and good reasonable prices. Would recommend to anyone and especially if you have toddlers, they have children's cutlery and crockery - a godsend when unexpectedly eating out!!
Great little find on a wet day. My son is still raving about the egg and bacon sandwich! Lovely staff and good value.
