Really fantastic meal here. Got the cheddar soufflé, pea risotto, fish & chips, and sticky toffee pudding. Each dish was better than the last, and was some of the best food we had on our trip. Sticky toffee pudding was gone in probably under a minute even though we were stuffed when it came out -it
What a fantastic little pub/restaurant. Very friendly staff incredible coffee and probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas compliment it very well. Crunchy batter, fresh fish and triple cooked chips. The wife had a halloumi burger which she said was delic
Great food and beer and excellent service. There’s great ambience too. The portion sizes are generous. We loved coming here!
We enjoyed a great Sunday roast last weekend. All the staff were very polite and helpful and the Maitre D' was great when the people who were on our table were finishing - he made sure our wait wasn't too long. The food was absolutely delicious and abundant. The meat was cooked perfectly (beef and c
There is no country side trip if we don’t have a stop at the Chequers. Always try to ask what are the “today’s specials.” However I always make sure to order the liver with mashed potatoes. So tender and juicy. Can’t wait to be back for this! And the great environment. The doggies love it too. (Just
While staying at a local cottage, we popped in with friends on the Saturday, and popped back on the Monday too, it was so nice. The food is beautiful, and the front of house staff are attentive and well informed about the menu, often over looked in the coffee quality which for me, here, was really
Always excellent. I have a gluten intolerance and I'm never made to feel like an inconvenience. Many of the dishes are gluten free (buttermilk chicken never tasted so good!) and it's one of the few places I can eat a whole variety of things without worry. The only thing I wish I could have is the
Definitely 5 stars. Great service, wonderful food. Would 100% re visit
Gastropub w very quality ingredients. Dog friendly pub. Friendly service. Great menu, balanced between decadence and healthy menu items. Sufficient parking.
Absolutely gorgeous Sunday Lunch. Proper village pub, friendly staff, amazingly tasty food plus lots of lovely well behaved doggies to chat to 🥰
We live fairly local in the Cotswolds, and actively seek out the best pub venues for Sunday lunch. This place is in our top 3. The Sunday roast is superb, the potatoes are the best we've had by a long shot. The staff will bring extra veg if required at no extra charge. Plenty of serving staff, great
Food is sublime, best burger I've had in a long time. Side of pulled pork mac n cheese is a must also! You won't be disappointed!
We had the most wonderful Sunday lunch yesterday!!! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding!! A very well managed establishment!! I might sound biased due to the fact that I live in Churchill but I have to give credit where it's due. My guests (party of four) were extremely impressed
My partner and I agreed - the best gastropub we have ever been to, and a place we will happily be returning to next time we visit the Cotswolds. Booking online was easy and we were seated inside a lovely room by friendly helpful and informative staff (able to answer questions about the food and inf
Wonderful restaurant with great local food. The service is very friendly and attentive. It may look like pub fare on the menu but it’s actually top rate cuisine. Be sure to bring a large appetite and careful not to gorge too much on the appetizers, as the mains are very sufficient portions and extre
Really nice Sunday Lunch. Scotch Egg starter highly rated by the youngster who commented positively on the flavourful egg (he said prob organic and free range?!). Massive portion for buttermilk chicken burger, whilst the roasts were good. separate veg trimmings on side. Wife's roast pork melt in mo

Great service and huge portions. Dog-friendly, of course. Best to reserve a table.
