Review The Fox - Chipping Norton

Lovely pub, right in the centre of town. Cosy and warm atmosphere. When dinning you can sit in either the traditional pub area or more formal dinning area. Great choice of local brewed beer and ales. Food was great. Bar team were really welcoming and friendly.

We had a lovely meal here. The staff all really friendly and professional. The food tasted great, nice size portions well cooked. We had steak, the burger, gluten free fish and chips and gammon. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. The roast beef was tender and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The Yorkshire puddings were perfection. Sticky toffee pudding - Fantastic! The waiter was friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly keen for us to enjoy our lunch. If we lived here we'd return on a regular basis.

Stayed here last night and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! All the staff were fantastic, room was great. We did think about venturing out for food but having walked round Chipping we decided to stick to dining at the fox and we were not disappointed!!! The chicken was amazing and the garlic mash!!!!! Breakfast finished off what was a faultless near perfect stay! Well done guys!!

Great atmosphere Buddha bowl was lovely...added shredded duck..portion on the mean side for £5 Pleasant staff, although we weren't checked back after our mains delivered, so couldn't really mention the small duck portion. Would return and recommend.

Lovely pub, smashing food and most of all a massive congratulations to the staff, especially the young lady that served us. So bubbly and very knowledgeable on the beers that were on offer. A return visit is a definite, would love to stay the night next time.

Had a lovely meal out with friends for lunch and enjoyed an amazing meal. Went for the buda bowl and was pleasantly surprised! Lovely clean and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you.

We stand the night here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate in the pub as well and the food was fantastic. Our bed was nice and big with its own bathroom. You can also park on site here which is an added bonus.

Nice atmosphere, a place to chill and have a drink in comfy surroundings. Food is excellent. Nice choice of food on the menu. Pleasant and helpful staff Would keep this pub in mind for a return visit when I am in the area.

We stayed one night at The Fox and loved it. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had the Sunday roast for dinner and what can I say about the beautiful melt in the mouth beef except maybe too much so we couldn't do the veg justice. Our breakfast was equally good and all perfectly cooked. I can highly recommend The Fox and would be happy to stay there again.

Wonderful little home away from home, so clean, bar staff lovely,great menu and yummy yummy food after a day out exploring. Could not recommend the place highly enough. Would stay again in a heartbeat

Evening visit on Monday , fantastic service , friendly , polite and efficient. Ordered a selection of nibbles : seafood platter - appalling , just rank terrible , Bruschetta - appalling , clueless example. Grilled Haloumi - pretty good ! Badly need some consultancy or training in the Kitchen.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff, fab food (we had an evening meal and breakfast), spotlessly clean and comfortable room (best sleep I've had in ages!) Would definitely stay there again.

Had a few days in Cotswolds and called in here for few drinks and bite to eat, lovely food and lovely cozy atmosphere! Only down was the front door slammed every time someone came or went! Needs a soft close hinge fitting! Apart from that the place is great!

The Fox is a great place to stay and Chipping Norton has all you need staff were really friendly.

Excellent service, good food and very comfortable accommodation. Also a nice touch on checking out when I was given a free bottle of Hook Norton beer for my birthday! Special thanks to Assumpta who worked like a demon making sure everyone was well catered for

What a friendly welcome we had, very welcoming even though they were fully booked for food there is plenty of room to sit and relax to have a couple of drinks. The outdoor area is fantastic with a terrace of separate seating areas, all under cover. Food next time.

Lovely overnight stay for New Year. From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by all the staff, particularly Assumpta. Excellent room & first class food. Would definitely return.

A lovely warm feeling as soon as you enter the Fox... very welcoming staff who can't do enough for you. Great location, wonderful warm rooms with very comfy beds and a comprehensive breakfast was much appreciated. Highly recommended *****

We had a wonderful lunch at The Fox yesterday. Fabulous food, friendly service and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We will be returning here when we're back in chipping Norton.

Amazing. Stayed Locally for 2 nights, booked the 1st night dinner here and the 2nd at another local restaurant but arrived there and didn't like the atmosphere � so went back to The Fox for a 2nd visit and just as perfect as the first. Food, service, drinks all great. Thank you �

Probably one of the best pubs / B&B's we've stayed in. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was excellent.

Dropped my in by accident during a fraught journey from London (escaping motorway chaos). Warm welcome, good food, good beer, relaxing atmosphere ... what more could you ask for?

The Fox was a lovely place to stay while spending time with friends in Chipping Norton. We stayed for 3 nights. Check in was super easy and casual, and the staff was delightful. We had very prompt and amazing service from the young lady from South Africa (sorry I couldn’t remember your name/if you ever want to visit Portland, Oregon we have a spare room free of charge)! The food and drinks were a good variety for us as one of us is a vegetarian and often find it hard when dining out on the road. The atmosphere of the bar/dining area was very comfy, clean and spacious. The room was clean and had a queen sized bed and a small desk. The shower was cute and felt amazing! It was very easy to figure out and get hot water quick. The hotel provided a free bottle of Hook Norton beer and water which was a nice surprise. Thank you!!! Overall our stay was wonderful and we would visit again. We only have a few suggestions that hopefully you would consider for future guests. 1. Prior to guest arrival make sure all electronics/room amenities work. On our first night we wanted to watch a tv show before going to bed, however, the screen of death greeted us (we could hear the shows but not see them only white lines). We let the front desk know about this first thing in the morning and we did not have a TV available for the duration of our stay. 2. Food/Dining- keep information in the hotel information book up to date! the hotel was our base before heading out on an adventure each day. One night we got back late around 845pm. I checked the hotel book that was on the desk in our room. It stated food was available to order until 930pm. We headed down for a late dinner at 9pm and we’re informed the kitchen had already closed. Chipping Norton is a small town and other sit down restaurants appeared to be closed, we ended up going to the Kebab cart just down the road which brings me to my second thought in terms of food; Allow takeaway to be brought back to the rooms and possibly a mini fridge. The hotel info book stated No Takeaway food is allowed in the guest rooms which made eating very inconvenient for us. It was freezing cold outside and having to eat outside is not fun especially if there is no food available to buy at the hotel. Our issues were overall minor in our opinions and I’m sure this hotel will get better and better as time and experience continue to build this place up. Thank you!

Went in for a drink with the family and ended up having a cracking Sunday Roast, Very good service and friendly staff.

Had a 1 night stay at the Fox , loverly clean room , comfy bed , nice breakfast, would book again without hesitation 👏
