Went for lunch today, the best, most welcoming pub I have been to for a long time ...from the moment we stepped through the door greeted with a lovely cheery hello and was fantastic caring service from beginning to end from both members of staff and our dog thoroughly enjoyed it too as he was treated like royalty! Don't get this kind of service many places these days. Well done!
Went there with a group of friends on a Saturday night - we phoned up about half an hour before and managed to book a table which was great.
Genuinely lovely staff there and the food was amazing. Fast service as well. Will definitely be coming back!
Visited for a pint(s) & Sunday dinner. Good food very good beer and even better service. Will call again. Ps dog was also welcome.

The best pub with the best beer in Chipping Norton
Easily the best pub with the best beer in town.
Thanks to Indra and Jim for putting on a Christmas meal for 28 of us. The food was excellent and the staff were their usual happy, helpful selves.
I love this place. Nice people, good food and drinks
We always visit this lovely pub when we visit the Cotswolds. It has a friendly atmosphere, lovely fire and great food. What more could you want?
What a wonderful authentic old pub. We were a party of five. Real home prepared and cooked food at very reasonable prices.
Had a lovely meal and service was really good be back soon
No regrets booking a table for a family reunion. Lovely staff, good food and an obliging landlord (Thanks Jim) Range of ales was also welcome.
Had a really nice lunch. Sirloin steak was really tasty and excellent service.
Brilliant proper pub. Nice chilli chips. Friendly staff and locals. Our new 'local' when we are at our Cotswold residence.
We spent the weekend in Chipping Norton, so visited the local establishments during our stay and decided this little gem was the best as a traditional pub. Firstly I would like to thank Alex for making us extremely welcome which was very much appreciated in which he his so proud of this pub. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and an extremely good pint of Guinness, the best in Chipping Norton in my opinion. Loved they layout of the pub which keeps its character.
Thanks again, and glad the Badger came back safe & Well.

Stunning cozy pub 👌 so atmospheric and the staff were amazing. The food was on another level. We went for the fish n chips & mushy peas. Can't recommend highly enough & we can't wait to get back.
Stayed in the area for a works event and visited the Chequers for sunday lunch. The Sunday roast is beautiful and massive! The Yorkshire pud and the portion of meat is huuuge!
We also had a lovely cup of tea afterwards.
The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and check that everything is OK.
Food was served very quickly and was fresh and delicious, there was plenty of Gravy on it too and the waitress also offered us more if we wanted it. Highly recommend the Sunday roast dinner.
The conservatory restaurant is beautiful and airy which was lovely.
Plenty of free parking in the area of Chipping Norton so no worries there.
Thanks for a lovely afternoon!
An absolute hidden gem in Chipping Norton.
Friendly staff and stunning food at a good price that completely took us off guard.
Great atmosphere and they were able to fit us in during peak hours. Can not recommend this place enough.
Go visit if your in the town!
I visited the Chequers this evening with my husband we met Marion, Tom and Alli who have just taken it over and said it was their first day. They plan to start serving food next week. I wish them well. They were friendly welcoming and niece to chat too.
Cracking traditional pub, gets busy so phone ahead if you're hoping to eat. Food is excellent.
Great traditional pub with good food and very friendly and attentive waitress.
Fantastic Sunday roast a few weeks ago here. Lovely pub. Friendly staff. Really recommend it. Will certainly go again when next in Chipping Norton.
Nice old ( 14th century ? ) country pub centrally situated in the town , friendly staff & good ales mainly from the Fullers range . Free parking not far away & the theatre literally just around the corner ( the box office is only next door too ! ) . Food is served certain times of the day & very dog friendly too 🐕 🐩 .
Nipped in here one Friday night. Got a stool at the bar and was served immediately. The place was busy but nice atmosphere / chatter, no deafening music playing!
Went for food, and as we hadn't booked and the place seemed to be very busy we were please to be offered a table. Staff were very attentive and sociable, drinks and food ordered it wasn't long before we were tucking into beautiful beer battered haddock n chips and chicken and mushroom pie with mash n veg. We were offered the sweet menu but really didn't have room. Would recommend.
Delicious Sunday roast. Friendly staff and lovely indoor seating area. Highly recommend!
