Lovely homely pub with a warm welcome from Guy, the landlord. Superb fish n'chip dinner and a desert to die for (Eton Mess and Chocolate n'Orange cheesecake).

We stopped for an impromptu lunch and enjoyed two fantastic fresh sandwiches and lovely wine and proper beer. Staff were very attentive and smiling. Well worth a visit, especially on a sunny day sitting either out the front or in the garden.

Really lovely place to stop for a drink. The garden was amazing for the kids, lots of dens and places to hide. Drinks good. Landlord really friendly too.

Booked on line at the Plough which was very easy. It has been years since we had been there and have to say we were very glad we gave it another try. Guy and Joy were very friendly and along with the tasty steak dinners, we had a very enjoyable time.x

Really good food cooked in the kitchen (not bought in and microwaved, as most pubs do), lovely ambience, well kept beers -- and Guy is a model landlord.

Great atmosphere throughout the year! I love winter days and Guy allows us to keep logs on the fire. We look forward to seeing you soon. Happy Christmas!

Really enjoyed our roast today and the service. Booked in advance and they were very accommodating for 9 of us. Lovely spot after walking 7 miles or so on the circular from Charlbury

This pub is awesome. The landlord is extremely nice - as is the rest of the staff. Food is always A-MA-ZING (and it’s our third time there), and it is also very good value for money. We love it here and will keep coming back when in the area. Very much worth a visit if you are in the area.

Very helpful publican. Chatty, friendly, happy to sell me a cold drink when they weren't open. Highly rated on TripAdvisor. Dogs welcome, water bowls outside, as well as outside benches. I highly recommend this pub, and will make a point of stopping here, after a walk for refreshments!

This pub is features early on in "Dog-friendly pub-walks: Cotswolds" —for a good reason I'd say. The forest/field walk around it was diverse, lovely and only slightly muddy. The pub had a good wine selection and the food was exquisite, especially their crunchy chips. The manager allowed us to place our order a bit after the two pm cutoff so that was great bonus!

Visiting from Lancaster. Staff were very friendly and lovely. Food was incredible, the best liver and mash I have ever had. My partner had the fish and chips and said it was amazing. 5 stars isn’t enough.

What an absolutely lovely find. I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever felt as welcomed in pub as I did in the Plough. The staff were so lovely and really knowledgable about their wines and food (I don’t drink wine but I overheard them speaking to somebody else). The service was incredible and the food matched it. Finished off a great day.

Really friendly welcome. Good to see local ales. Food was tasty with three veggie mains available. Helpful with elderly guest. Recommended.

We walked there from Charlbury on a day when all trains from Oxford had been cancelled. The landlord was most accommodating and five of us were delighted with the choice of proper ale. The food was of a decent restaurant standard and probably on the expensive end of pub food but not outrageous for a competent restaurant. There is a welcoming snug by the fire for walkers that was much appreciated after a bit of a soggy walk.
