This is a a good pub. Fabulous Sunday roasts. Regular Jazz trio led by Dutch Lewis usually last Sunday in the month 4-7 pm. Outside in the garden if fine.
Went there specifically for the Sunday Roast. I had the three-types-of-beef one, and my wife had the chicken. Both were outstanding and were served with really nice potatoes with crispy outsides, plus vegetables. Especially liked the fire roaring next to us since it was starting to get chilly!
Stopped in here while visiting the Chipping Campden. We arrived a minute or two after the kitchen closed for the afternoon but the staff very graciously filled our order anyways. The food was tasty and the ales rich. It was just the fuel stop we needed before spending a few hours strolling about town.
Called in late on Sunday afternoon hoping for the roast dinner. Sadly, they had sold out! Had the Cajun chicken burger, fish and chips and kids had burgers. Food was well cooked and tasty, nice pint of local IPA too. Service was quick, staff very polite. Location is great, right in the centre of the village.
Nice country pub in my grandfather's home town of Chipping Campden where we had lunch on a trip to find out more about my Grandad's early life. I had a nice filling "special" a Bratwurst and fries 🍟 which my wife shared and she had a home made cauliflower cheese made with rich double gloucester and fresh cauliflower. All in all a lovely meal and very reasonable at £14.99 for mine and a bargain £4.50 for my wife's which was on the menu as a "side" All in all a great pub with great food and a nice atmosphere in the big beer garden with a nice shiny sliver "trailer" as the Americans call them! Great pub!
Delicious lunch and beautiful atmosphere in Chippen Campden. They had many vegan options and lots of outdoor seating. The staff was very nice and accommodating to us. The meatless vegan burger was excellent, as were the chili and Buffalo cauliflower. Highly recommend if you stop in Chippen Campden!
As a vegetarian, we were extremely happy with the treatment as the server inquired if we’d like our chips fried in vegetable oil instead. The nachos were out of the world — fresh and delicious. The seating was amazing too as we got a private corner room!
I ate here with my girlfriend after a longish walk on the surrounding hills in Mar 2023. The pub has a large child and family friendly garden to the rear, really good food and some great beers and wine. Location is 4/5 because it sits right on the main road from Oxford to Stratford and perhaps that is a benefit... a matter of taste. I've not stayed here so can't comment on rooms.
Great vegan food for lunch. Vegan burger and chili was very good. Battered cauliflower was amazing. Greek salad (vegetarian) was not very filling.
Best vegan burger I've had in a long time. Flavours were on point. Service friendly
We have just been for Sunday lunch and all I can say is ‘wow’ what an amazing meal! Need time we are in the area again we will definitely be visiting again! Thanks
Great food and service, lovely surroundings. Highly recommended. Had food envy for every dish that came past my table.
Went in for late lunch, early dinner. Sausage n mash was sublime. Black pudding mash potato was unique an perfection. The gravy superb. Fish n chips crispy and perfect. Mushy peas delicately minted.
Lovely atmosphere, nice cool, covered seating area out back, friendly staff and excellent beef chilli nachos. Highly recommended.
We might have the day after amazing wedding and spend the afternoon in the garden. Lovely pub, amazing food and will come again
Had a meal here and a drink , did not stay here, but the atmosphere was pretty good and the food was good
Popped in for lunch the scoff dirty fries and pork belly bites were amazing 😃
