We were there for a family wedding so didn't sample the Bistro's food. But the Latte was nice and hot the atmosphere was convivial and everyone had a great time at the wedding which was being hosted by the Hotel and Spa attached to the Bistro.

We came here for lunch, five adults and two dogs, and two tables were quickly put together for us in the window. The service was relaxed and unfussy but quick and efficient. Food excellent: I had the best mushroom soup ever, others had sandwiches which they thoroughly enjoyed. I heartily recommend this place.

We eat here regularly as locals. The staff are always welcoming, cheerful and very attentive. They, and the kitchen will go out of their way to try and accommodate requests. The food is always prepared to the highest standards with obviously freshly prepared ingredients. For example, even the tomatoes in their mozzarella and tomato salad ooze incredible flavour. Now that there are daily specials as well, there is a great variety of choice. Well done guys . Keep up the good work.

Found this bar as we were looking around Chipping Campden. Most of the other bars/eating places in the town were either closed for lunch, or rather dire looking. This place looked nice and bright, and had a handsome collection of Gins. Alas as a driver I could not participate. Lunch was from a specials, or their standard menu. Service was quick. Food reasonable. I did like their cheese plate, lots of locally produced cheeses, nothing from a large National dairy.

Had a lovely lunch which was fantastic value with the eat out to help out scheme. They gladly welcomed us and our dogs, despite the wet weather, and we had a tasty lunch of soup and a salmon salad. Friendly staff and efficient service: would recommend.

Popped into Chipping Campden on our way home from a trek out. Although we've been to the town before (it's "chocolate box" pretty) we haven't eaten there. So during our stroll we eyed the various lunch menus on display and plumed for the very first we looked at... The Bistro On The Square. The place was moderately busy, nicely designed with a balance of modern and traditional decor best described as a "nice pub" feel. My friend and I chose from their warm sandwiches selection. She went for the pesto, mozzarella and sun-blushed tomato baguette, I the minute steak, mushroom, onion on ciabata. The food arrived after a short wait, nicely presented with some salad and fries. I can safely say we both thoroughly enjoyed our lunches. Whilst not the traditional "minute steak" but rather a slice of (sirloin?) steak cooked and then thinly sliced, it was tender, tasty and nicely cooked to still be pink. The onions were caramelized just the right amount and the mushrooms were sliced field mushrooms rather than those bland closed cup supermarket things. Whilst nothing exotic, what was served was well cooked and nicely presented. The bill was less than £30 for the two meals and two soft drinks so moderately priced to boot. 👍

Visited yesterday without reservation and they were happy to accommodate four of us, despite being comfortably busy. We enjoyed 4 fabulous main courses, excellent wine and delicious puddings. The service was good and the atmosphere totally relaxed; perfect for four friends to celebrate completing our trek of the Cotswolds Way. Thank you.

Had a very nice lunch, staff very good. In the evening had a drink before going to the Fig restaurant. Don't normally drink gin, but they had such a large selection it seemed rude not to. Very good G (roubarb and mulberry) & T, might be a convert!

FYI - Dinner is NOT in the Bistro! We were confused when we were ushered into the fine dining area (I hadn't done my hair!), yet we stayed and had a fabulous meal.

We had a fabulous series of visits to the Bistro! First night in Chipping Camden we had drinks with a friend staying at the hotel - delicious gin and tonics and good wine. They have a nice wine list featuring European wines. The gin is plentiful, and they offer gin tastings. We enjoyed delicious gin and tonics on both nights, including those using Cotswolds Gin! On our second night we ate at the restaurant. We arrived early, around 5 pm, after a day of traveling around the Cotswolds. We had a drink and then said we'd love to come back in an hour to have dinner - they said that was no problem (and this is a bank holiday)! We wandered off to a pub down the street (Eight Bells), which was suggested by the waitstaff. We had a great time having a glass of wine there, where we mixed with locals and visitors from near and far. We returned to the Bistro, which was pretty much full - except one table! They had held our table back, with three settings for dinner. We shared excellent food (and more g&ts!) including classic egg pasta with shaved truffle (yum!), the avocado and egg salad, and a side of lovely, buttered green beans. Overall, the meal has been the highlight meal of my trip to the England. The staff was fun, hardworking, and really made us feel welcome, even if the majority of the guests were "stiff upper lips" in regards to us having a fun time. If I return to Chipping Campden, I'm staying at this hotel and dining here for sure! A lovely experience!
