One of very few traditional pubs remaining. Don't expect Gastro pub because that isn't what this place is about. Proper pub, proper beer, proper landlord, proper pub grub.

Nice quaint pub, away from the traffic of the common down the road. Service was really lovely and friendly - the man behind the bar was an absolute delight! Good prices - around £9 for a pint of Thatchers and a pint of Strongbow. Lovely beer garden area to enjoy the drinks in, as well as a gorgeous building to snoop around. Sadly, food seemed limited to certain time frames which meant we couldn't eat when we visited, which was a shame as would love to have tried their meals. Maybe next time!

Spur of the moment visit for lunch with my mum. Very friendly service. Great menu with traditional classics that sadly seem missing in a lot of today's modern pubs. Difficult to choose what to have. It was a chilly day so I opted for the steak and kidney pudding with new pots and fresh veg. It was delicious but couldn't quite manage the large portion. Mum had gammon egg and chips which was also thoroughly enjoyed. All waiter service, no need to get up and down to the bar. Thoroughly recommend. We will be back soon.

Dave the Landlord is a diamond, nothing is too much trouble, the staff too, a really lovely original pub, couple of regulars had, had a few, but were friendly and jovial with it

Great location. Good beer. Still remember them serving German sausages from the bar griddle.

A typical country pub with nice walks and views. They do a decent all-day breakfast and the outside garden has space for several tables (and are pet friendly). Sometimes there's a wait but never too long and good arrives warm.

Absolutely outstanding proper old fashioned pub with a "can do" attitude with plenty of personality. A great warm atmosphere 😁 Food and drinks are reasonable with a good selection to choose from with a friend or two! The landlord is terrific and his cat - Windy is always a joy to see. There's a garden as well. I always look forward to seeing the locals (well over 30 years now) and this pub has not changed much since 😀

Best Sunday lunch around. Good beer. Friendly staff and locals. Garden nice in the summer. A proper pub. Recommended. After 5 years, Still the best proper local in the area. Gets busy later on, Lamb Shanks are a good choice on the menu.

Very good as usual. Friendly landlord and staff, good drinks and food. A repeat visit any time. It should also be noted that this establishment is renowned for events for charity.

I love this pub, been coming here for nearly 20 years, it's just how proper pubs used to be, great landlord, nice pub food. Prefer this to the 'big' pub/restaurant up the road, small & secluded garden, limited parking let's it down a bit.

Great little pub with a dedicated Landlord. Over 40 years in the business. I walked in on a Monday night and they don't do food. He said I could do you something simple like fish and chips. That will do me. Going beyond what you Normally do is a big plus in my book. Shall call again. Highly recommended

Good, no fuss country pub near several lovely walls. Met my parents in law here for the first time by accident. Food is decent. Drinks are no fuss style country pub. Beer is alright.
