Great pub. We've been there a few times to eat our cycling in the Epping Forest. Our last visit from yesterday wasn't any different. The burgers were very tasty and juicy. Service was good and the chap that served us even came to ask how was the food even though we sat outside in the garden all alone during the evening. ( well build with a beard, sadly didn't get the name) Good customer service. Prices also reasonable.
We had a beautiful evening in their bear garden. The atmosphere and the service were great. The staff regularly cleared our glasses. It was my friends stag do. There were about 11 of us, and it was really ideal sitting outside within their outdoor facilities. It was nice and warm, and when it briefly started to rain, fortunately, we were able to move over to one of their sheltered bays. Would highly recommend.
I came in on Sunday for a Sunday lunch and was served by a lovely waitress by the name of Meghan she kindly let us know that’s the roast potatoes were out of stock and offered new potatoes or mash potato as a substitute. me and my girlfriend were very impressed with the service and we will definitely be returning.
I had a fantastic time at the pub restaurant for Sunday dinner and drinks. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for a relaxing evening. The standout of the evening was definitely the delicious lamb shank roast prepared by the talented chefs. It was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
A big shoutout to the attentive staff members, Sam and Kieran, who made the experience even more enjoyable with their friendly service and prompt attention. Their recommendations for both drinks and dessert were spot on. Overall, it was a delightful evening filled with great food, wonderful company, and impeccable service. Many thanks to the entire team for making my Sunday special!
Very nice pub. Great beer selection. Staff are great. Shout out to Cira, always friendly and attentive 👍
Lovely pub. Ample seating. Clean. Great fires. Special shout out to Cira for being incredibly attentive - nothing was ever too much. Would come again.
Lovely, lovely place for Sunday lunch. Friendly staff. Very well run. Only gave food 4 stars instead of 5 because one of us ordered belly pork but received something else.. Forgot to tell us that belly pork was off and she didnt like the honey roast pork alternative, but the food is great and very generous proportions.
Wednesday evening snack
Got to the kings head about 7 just wanted a drink and a starter
Saved quickly at bar and ordered a lobster and sea food cocktail.
Had to wait a while and then served by a lovely man but obviously under a great deal of pressure I asked him how many staff were on and he sort of laughed and said he was extremely busy not enough work for.
My food was good. Thank you.
Great pub, service is always good. Staff are very friendly, Cira in particular goes above and beyond to help and is always friendly and welcoming to us.
Our eating experience was spoilt by another customer's dogs which fussed and barked all through the meal. If dogs cannot be quiet, they should be asked to leave.
We came for the Sunday roast - the beef was very good but the 'pork loin' was actually gammon ham and should have been described as such in the menu.
We had a great experience. This pub has great beers, amazing customer service and a delicious roast dinner! The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating, I would definitely recommended stopping in, if in the area, especially for their Sunday lunches.
Always a lovely friendly welcome from the staff. Beautiful outside seating area. Great food too if hungry. Only thing missing is a selection of craft beers!
Historical pub and garden, steeped in local lore, settled on King’s Head Hill, the brow of a steep incline.
Traditional suburban family pub with a reasonable complement of beverages, variety of meals and some Vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Picturesque period exterior connotes a vanished world of coaching, wagons and horses: arriving at the summit for victuals, a brief repose, recovery and perhaps, revelry,
Times change, habits die hard.
Had a great evening at the pub the other week. A good selection of both food and drink.
Excellent service from Megan and Kieran on the bar.
Will be coming back again for sure
