One of the best burgers Ive ever had, cosy pub, friendly owners, absolutely recommend
We regularly pop in for drink to this very welcoming pub, but due to a young daughter very rarely eat. Today all three of us were welcomed in warmly to eat and had a fantastic Sunday roast with a modern twist. The service was exceptional even with a completely packed pub due to the snow. Its nice to see the effort that Desi and James, plus their staff put in to every experience in the pub have paid off with great food and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Cannot wait to eat again.
PS. The logs they are burning are great, we must ask where they get them from!
Under new management, such a friendly welcome. Service great, menu changed regularly. Great burger and pie, good veggie option.
Excellent village pub, great food, great service, Daisy is a great host!
Literally an awesome burger superb !!!! Recommend this to anyone in Dorset. Food and service were superb, 5 stars from me
A very friendly pub and a brilliant find! Made us all very welcome- especially Kenny dog who was totally spoilt! We will be back!
Excellent service very friendly atmosphere
Food was great
We stopped in on a Sunday, for a weekend away in Dorset (in May - late review), after reading their reviews.
What a charming local pub it is, very friendly, people stopping off after church service had finished. We had a fantastic roast Sunday lunch and we would be coming back again if the chef was staying!
Parking on the roadside.
Nice little pub garden.
Great Pimms!
Amazing food - the scotch egg is to die for.
What more can you ask for.
The Land lady and land lord, Lynne and John, at the Bakers Arms Pub offer exceptional and welcoming service. From the moment we walked in, their warm smiles and attentive approach made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy, and their genuine hospitality truly stood out. It's clear that they take pride in creating a welcoming environment for their patrons. We had a wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back to enjoy their great service and the delightful pub experience.
We loved this pub, their hospitality, yummy food & warm atmosphere. Highly recommended, also with kids!
Having just walked Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill with a different pub lunch planned, where we couldn't get in, with the help of Google Maps and the car we found The Bakers Arms. Here the welcome, from staff and a chap comfortably settled at the bar, was friendly and the wood-burner was welcome warmth after the cold outside.
We had a delicious lunch, in my case halloumi bun with baba ganoush and chips and my daughter enjoyed scotch egg and millionaire chips (worth the journey just for those).
It's a great old world village pub, well worth a visit, on foot or in the car.
Tried this pub after reading some of the reviews, and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was just excellent, more like a high class restaurant than a pub. The scotch egg was delicious and the chicken thigh in a delicious cream sauce was just stunning. The ice cream was the best I have ever had. We will definitely return. Thank you Emily, James & Desi.
Although they don't do food they offer a lovely friendly pub with a fantastic landlord and landlady, really helpful and our stay at daisy cottage was amazing
The Bakers Arms in Child Okeford is a wonderful little village pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming to its visitors. The quality of the food is fantastic and the pub offers excellent booth seating by a cozy fire. When you drop in we highly recommend trying the burgers, they are delicious. The Bakers Arms offer great support to the local community, this was evident by the Phesantfest which was a fantastic and well supported community day. We love that the pub is a dog friendly pub also!
Lucky enough to be the 1st booking in the newly renovated Daisy Cottage @ The Baker Arms, an extremely welcoming country pub with great food.
The kitchen in Daisy Cottage had everything you could need on a short break, although with the pub on the doorstep serving a great homemade/local menu we decided to have dinner there and used it only for a quick breakfast in the morning.
The cottage has one bedroom with a good sized lounge dinner with a sofabed (very comfortable).
Soft furnishings and decor is ideal for this country retreat. We will certainly be back!
Thank you to the new owners who worked tirelessly to make our stay so relaxed and enjoyable. Good operators
Me, my partner and Jack Russell had the loveliest of welcomes here. Well kept ale and Guinness to die for all rounded off with an evening meal that was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend if you are in the area and definitely worth a journey if not. Big Thank You! Gary, Chris and Fannie xx
Such friendly and kind staff who made us feel so welcome, not to mention the lovely locals who struck up a conversation with us within minutes of walking in. To top it all off the food was absolutely delicious with very fresh ingredients and a varied menu. The chef also clearly cared about our enjoyment of it when she came out to chat to us. Looking forward to coming back often!
