We tend to visit here every year on our trip to Golden Cap. Staff are lovely and food is really good. As I require gluten free it’s so nice to see items clearly marked. I had the fish pie which was very nice. It came with crispy kale which was superb!
My husband had the pork loin which was a bit too
Were staying local for my birthday weekend and popped into The George for a drink or two on arrival day. Made to feel very welcome by the lovely ladies behind the bar. Our weekend ended there three days later by having a Sunday roast, wow beautiful as was the dessert. All very reasonably priced and
Really lovely welcome here and we had a pleasant meal with the dog. The scallop starter special was lovely, as was the blanche bait (though the portion could have been bigger). The gammon special was excellent, as was the fish pie but the sea bass dish was a little disappointing (all dishes could ha
Travelling home from Devon, we wanted to stop somewhere for a roast dinner and came across The George Inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming when first approached and we could take our dog in. My roast dinner was the best I've ever had, totally delicious! Puddings were also delightful. The decor
A great place in an ideal location for a pitstop.
A warm and friendly welcome on entering the establishment.
A deceptively large premises and we were afforded our own table in the snug which was quintessentially an English pub.
The staff were brilliant and the food delicious. We had scallops to star
We are on holiday from Coventry and have just visited this beautiful pub for our evening meal. As soon as we walked in (I'm guessing manager or landlord) made us extremely welcome. We had our very nervous German Shepherd with us and even he felt settled and comfortable.
The table staff were very pol
Lovely friendly pub, with parking as well as good food. Good service and limited, but good option- menu. Well worth a visit. Has a nice "family feel".
Second visit in as many days. Dropped in for Sunday lunch as yesterdays food was lovely. A well presented roast beef lunch with crispy potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and tasty gravy. Slight unimpressed with vegetable served although cooked perfectly just would have liked maybe red cabbage as informed b
Ate here a couple of times over the bank holiday weekend, once it was quite quiet and once very busy. Their standards didn’t drop. Good tasty, locally sourced pub food and a decent selection of beers. Pretty big place with loads of room spread across different areas. Nice outdoors area too.
Love The Anchor at Seatown for the views but the vege options are not to my taste and we were recommended here for the food. Couldn’t rate it highly enough! The food all round was just absolutely delicious!! (husband and daughter loved theirs too and we all practically licked the plates clean;) Grea
Lovely quiet , sunny courtyard at the back to have a beer while waiting for the bus, after a long walk on the South coast track. Really informative friendly staff, wanted to make sure we liked what we ordered. Well done, great customer service.
My sisters and I have met here for lunch every three to four months. We all travel a fair way from different directions.
The welcome is always friendly and warm, the food is excellent. The menu is not extensive, but every dish we have tried has been well presented and delicious. We have met in a num
My dog and I sat out the back in their large and pleasant flagstoned area.
I had local sourdough with 3 oils. This was an enjoyable and unusual lunch.
The Palmers IPA, brewed 7 minutes away in Bridport, was excellent.
The glorious March sunshine helped too of course.
A little pricey for pub food, but the food is really nice, more like restaurant food. The menu is varied with few plain meals, so it's not for the fussy eater. There was a good range of ales on draught.
Fabulous place, friendly and welcoming staff and delicious food, generous portions! Plenty of choice for meat and fish eaters. A very enjoyable evening made perfect by friendly knowledgeable helpful staff!
Service was excellent, I had fish and chips on Friday and roast beef on Sunday both were the best I had had for a while bread and butter pudding was fab, my dog was made very welcome.
Excellent, would be the best word to describe this delightful country pub. With friendly, attentive staff, a fine choice of local ales and quality drinks and some of the most delicious, high quality ingredients in their small but perfectly formed menu, my husband and I booked a second visit there an
