After consuming what can only be described as my own bodyweight in food and drink over the Christmas period, a family pub lunch was probably the last thing I needed in the diary on the day after Boxing Day. After reading about The Swan Inn in Chiddingfold however, my brother’s choice of eatery for the occasion, I soon changed my mind.
There was a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I had buffalo wings for a starter and they were really tasty. My friend had a prawn cocktail which she said was full of leaves and lacking in flavour. For mains we had Dover sole with chips and tartar sauce, the flavour was good but the price was £24 each which we considered to be extremely high especially as there was no vegetables or salad with it. We couldn't fault the flavour of the mains but the price was just too high. I would visit again because before Covid 19 we had an exceptional meal here at a reasonable price.
Stayed in room 9 which was lovely, clean and cosy. The bathroom has a double sink in situ with a very good shower/ bath and is spacious as is the bedroom area. Down side is there isn't much sound proofing and you can hear your neighbours in the next room. The continental breakfast is lovely and main evening meals are also very tasty with a good menu to choose from. There is also a good selection of alcoholic beverages but are a little over priced. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Garden area is also very pleasant to sit out in. I would definitely recommend The Swan Inn.
Really friendly and welcoming staff. We arrived a little before 6pm but were still able to order. Good selection of meals. Chef's special fish of the day was mussels in a lemon and dill sauce were absolutely delicious 😋 😋 😋
Pleasant pub with good food
I had dinner here on a warm Saturday, when sitting in the garden was very pleasant. The prawn and avocado salad starter was excellent. The chicken and ham pie casing was rather hard, but the filling was very tasty and was served with a generous portion of vegetables and mashed potato.
We had Sunday lunch and everything was of a high standard. The food was great and there are plenty of options in addition to the normal Sunday roast. The service was very friendly and there is an outside area if you'd prefer to eat there. Dogs are very welcome and kept happy with treats and water from the bar staff!
Lovely pub with very welcoming and knowledgeable staff.
We sat inside although the garden is a lovely spot, and the food matches the setting and the service.
If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.
Not bad, good sevice from young girls food good, had burger, it could do with salad!
