We came here after a walk for lunch. Staff are really lovely and this seems like a nice, fun place to hang out.
My review is based on eating lunch here - The menu is an Asian fusion mix and honestly I think it's trying a bit too hard. A lot of the dishes lack flavour and have too many gimmicks and twists.
I recommend visiting this pub but the menu didn't quite deliver on its promise food wise.
Lovely outside area, super friendly staff. Great Asian fusion and the smoked brisket roast dinner was great. I never knew I needed smoked broccoli in my life. Also a good selection of beers available. Will definitely return.
Omg. I am blown away. The meal we had was phenomenal. I cannot praise this restaurant enough. The food, the staff, the environment, it was all amazing. To start we had the ox cheek donut and the mussels. We didn't know what to expect with the ox cheek dish, maybe ox cheek in a donut shape. We certainly didn't expect ox cheek in an actual sugary donut. I don't know how it worked, but my God it did. It was out of this world. The mussels were delicious too. For mains he had the burger and I had the steak. The steak was unbelievable. It came with ox cheek and bone marrow. The steak in itself was amazing, but with the ox cheek and bone marrow it just took it to another level. Honestly the best steak dish I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of steak over the years! We had the Som Tam Thai side, the flavours were so intense but so perfect. We felt compelled to try the deserts since the starts and main were so awesome. We had the peanut butter chocolate tart and manju steamed buns at the waiters recommendation. The salted caramel dip that came with the buns was delicious. The most perfect meal. If you find yourself in Chiddingfold go here. Even if you're not in Chiddingfold, travel there just to eat here!! 10/10
Otherwise known as dirty-sixth. If you are bored with the run of the mill pub restaurant offering the same old dishes, then this is the place to come. It was very refreshing to see a host of new looking dishes.
Picture is of Three Manju steamed buns with chocolate anko, macha, and salted caramel sauce (sauce not shown on picture) The buns were delicious and had a chocolate filling, scattered with a green powder which was probably green tea powder. There was also a hot salted caramel sauce which isn’t shown in the picture. I couldn’t taste the green tea powder “Matcha” labelled as “macha" I think it made the dish look amazing. It was extremely more-ish!!!
My husband had Yuzu and lemongrass merengue pie and two of us had one scoop of strawberry ice cream. Proper scoop of ice cream as two of us were stuffed from the mains. My absolute pet hate is a “scoop” of ice cream that is just a “scrape” or curl. This was an amazing single scoop, which made a very welcome change. It tasted great too.
We also had Sunday roast dinners. Their speciality is slow roasted smoky barbecue meats. I had the mix of three meats, oak smoked brisket, slow roast pork belly with crackling, and smoked shoulder of lamb (shredded). You need to like a smoky flavour.
Everything was cooked beautifully. The vegetables were served in a dish for four, were not overdone, nice soft carrots but the French beans were hidden under the cabbage. There were no serving implements. After asking we were given a desert spoon! The roast potatoes were excellent but I did miss the parsnips though. Huge Yorkshire pudding, delicious gravy.
It was very busy and we waited a long time for the food to come which is sort of to be expected if you book for 13:30. We had lots to talk about so that was ok and we didn’t have a starter. I didn’t get pictures of the mains as we had all started to tuck in quickly when it arrived. We would definitely go again and would highly recommend especially if you are looking for something a bit different.
Fantastic place. Amazing selection of beers including crafts and cans to take away too. The food especially the steaks are unreal. One of the best steaks I’ve had. We had a lovely works for here recently. Love the place
Just stumbled across this lovely pub, staff are very welcoming and friendly making a nice change. Great selection of ice cold beers, not eaten but the food looks amazing, will definitely return !!
The pub had a lovely atmosphere and a cool rocky feel, with lovely, friendly serving staff! However the food was still the star, we had the chicken wings and two of their selection of bao buns which were all juicy and incredible, then we shared the Thai caramel pork chop and slow cooked lamb shoulder with skinny fries - everything was amazing and great value too! Definitely a great place to visit for food and drinks.
What a lovely lovely pub!
We drove past and thought we'd pop in.
Staff were all really helpful and friendly.
Dog friendly which is fabulous for us- and the dogs loved the treats too.
Staff helped us with non alcoholic options, including a lovely gin - much appreciated.
Maybe a sign is need to point to the ladies bathrooms. 😄😆😉🙃
We will definitely come back and try a meal.
The food looked amazing!
Have driven past many times but never thought of going in. Surprised to find such a large garden, which can't be seen from the road. Great atmosphere and love the teepee vibe they have going on. Seems perfect for live music, however I'm unsure if they do this. Being a Dirty Sixth pub I was expecting great food and certain wasn't disappointed. Food was excellent, as we're the cocktails. Our waiter was very funny and took good care of us. Very friendly staff in general. I would definitely recommend 👌
Ate here on Saturday night after a friend recommended it, and absolutely loved it. Cocktails and drinks were great, really interesting menu and the food was of good quality. Our server was friendly and attentive, and COVID measures were more than adequate. We quite literally didn't want to leave, but there was a booking after us and no other free tables, which is a testament to how popular they are! I think the peanut butter chocolate pie was one of the best things I've ever eaten.
