Lovely food. Amazing and friendly service. Handmade scones were delightful, had the vegetarian breakfast which was delicious as well .
Wow, what a scone π
We enjoyed cream tea and a hot chocolate delight. And a delight it was according to the little one

We had a cheese scone, a fruit scone with jam and cream, tea, coffee, and a soft drink. The scones were delicious π
The customer service was very good. A very nice eatery. Do pay a visit when in Chichester. We are regulars, and any food we have had there has been good π
Lush! Went in there twice in one day, had tea and carrot cake first stop, best carrot cake I've ever had. Second visit had savoury cream tea, which was a massive cheese scone, grated cheese, butter and tomato chutney. Prices are good and staff are very friendly. Will definitely go again.
First time coming to Chichester, such a lovely place, really well priced and more importantly lovely staff that are so approachable and kind. Would recommend coming. Scones were some of the best I've had!
What a find this tearoom was. We discovered it late in the afternoon, tired & pretty desperate for tea & cakes! Although they were on the point of closing they welcomed us in & were so friendly. The tea & cakes were first rate. My Dutch friends were so impressed!
We visited this place many years ago and have just moved to the Chichester area we popped in for seconds. We both had a cream tea Β£6.75 well worth it a nice size scone, clotted cream and jam. We each got a pot of tea with some extra hot water (at least 3 cups of tea. Good service and a very pleasant environment to sit and relax.
It is lovely, very English, which is a rarity in the south. I had a bacon cheese toastie, waitress service.
The only thing I do object to is π in cafes/resturants, excluding guide/assistant dogs. One was constantly barking in the cafe while I was eating my lunch.
Warm welcome. Good service. Great bacon sandwich in really fresh crusty bread. Loved it so much went back for lunch. The tuna sandwich was great btw as was the chilli jacket which had a proper kick as all good chilli's should.
Very nice place to eat for a light lunch or coffee break, the building is very unsaual with lots of character. The staff are very friendly , chatty and helpful. The massive scones are a must do with jam and cream. Great place to eat
The best clotted cream tea, the scones were soft inside with slightly crisp outside - best I've had in a long time. Delicious π
The ambience was really great, the food was delicious and just the right quantity so I left feeling good. The coffee was very delicious as well. Overall, it is a must visit place in Chichester!
Popped in for breakfast, nice clean venue, pleasant staff, fairly priced and extra hot water for the teapot, something you don't get very often.
Proper scones with proper pots of tea at properly affordable prices ! Look at specials board if you feel spoiled for choice. My cheese scones, with tomato onion relish was an absolute delight. My only regret was not having sampled any of the lavish looking cakes two days earlier. My granddaughter ate her chocolate fudge cake unassisted !! The lunch portions also looked generous. Our train time prohibited a longer stay. Lovely decor, especially the canvas prints in the toilet area. The ladies has a 'Ascot' lady all of its own. A very pleasant place to contemplate a ceiling or just recuperate after sightseeing or a hard shop.
Great lunch time visit. Very busy which is a good sign. Food took a little while to arrive but was worth it.
Found this cafe while in Chichester exploring the city. Spend a few hours here. Unfortunately it rained all day which made the visit less enjoyable.
Wanted to grab a bite to eat and discovered The Buttery. At the time we walked in they had plenty of free tables, but soon after it filled up
Very good menu serving hot and cold food options. Nice cakes, scones and pastries.
Had tea with a piece of coffee cake.
Not an overly big slice, more of a slither. But nice.
Saw some of the hot food coming out. Ham , eggs and chips did look good.
Very quirky place in what appears to be an old crypt. Reminded me of the crypt roof in Winchester Cathedral.
Looked a very popular cafe with a guess locals and holidaymakers alike.
Definitely worth a try π

Very nice food, I had the beef dirty fries, not as spicy as they could be (for me) but tasted very good. All based in the crypt nice vaulted ceiling. Friendly staff.
