Went for a walk. Got hungry. Searched for nearest pub. Found this place. Wonderful. Lovely outside garden. Calm. Great food. I mean *great* food. Even with a fair few people there, it wasn't too crowded, and the other dishes seen as I popped to the loo, looked pretty good too.
Definitely a place to go back to next time we're around.
We visited this pub today for lunch , it was a beautiful day so we sat in the garden .It was our first trip out with our new baby grandson , our daughters and son in law . The food was absolutely lovely and you couldn’t fault it , some of the staff however need lessons in how to talk to customers, the lady who took the food was very abrupt and when my son in law went to pay he was told “ we don’t take American Express ,” could have been said in a much nicer manner .
A classic local pub serving a nice selection of ale and good menu options for food. Great service and a lovely place to get off the beaten track, sit back and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet with a pint and some food. I'll definitely be returning. Very much recommend a visit
Came with my dad one evening on a walk. Only had cheesy chips so can't comment too much on the food, but the beer was good! Full of locals it seemed, which gave it a nice atmosphere!
Had a nice Saturday early evening meal of Haddock and chips which was very nice. Staff attentive and friendly. Would certainly come back again. Prices to be expected at a country pub. Nice atmosphere
The old house at home used to be a favourite in my youth but it had been nearly 20 years since we had been. Luckily, unlike do many places, this place remains a gem. Fabulous food, great beer lovely atmosphere. We will be back!
Love the building and location. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the menu or quality of it.
Friend took me for birthday lunch. Fish and chips, were great. I know a bit boring for lunch, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. All round great. The roads a bit twisty and tight to get there, from Lavant.
Another really excellent meal here. Staff were very friendly. Our 18month old granddaughter was made very welcome and our food exceeded already high expectations. We will be back, again!

Nice, friendly and helpful. We visited for Sunday lunch. Great selection of vegetables (not overcooked) and cauliflower cheese as a side. We've visited, on and off, for over 30 years. We will be back!!

Great ambiance, fantastic food. Our fish special and a pie were absolutely outstanding as was the crumble.
We were on an unplanned drive across the country and it being Friday night, struggled to find somewhere to eat. The staff were very welcoming and we were grateful not to be turned down. Not only our hungry souls had a meal but a delicious one. We were sorry to be in rush and not to be able to enjoy the place for longer. Hopefully we will be back one day for more, thank you!
A very nice ploughman’s lunch. Would like to go back to try some of the other items on the menu.
