The first time I have seen beef wellington on the menu since 1995! In those silly 'what would be your last meal request' discussions, I always say without hesitation, "beef wellington"! And this did not disappoint!! Cooked to perfection!! It was a very special occasion why we were out celebrating with friends and the whole experience was spot on! Superb, helpful staff who despite locking the front door nearly an hour before, (we were outside enjoying the sun and had no idea of the time or that it had actually closed!) but never rushed us and still offered us tea and coffee even after we suddenly realised it was now closed! Obviously we didn't take up the offer, but how kind was that?!?! Cannot recommend more highly!!
Went for my Birthday as a last minute idea. Was expecting good food and it was sunny so sat in the courtyard. However, we were completely blown away by the excellence of the food (steak) and the desert was to DIE FOR! Waiting staff really friendly and went to extra effort for my Birthday which was a lovely touch. I think it's my favourite treat in the City.
The best food I've ever had, highly recommend the beef wellington. Brilliant service, ambient music and an excellent array of drink choice. A true gem of Chichester.
Dan and the team made my 50th celebrations fabulous! Venue, food and service were all amazing. 14 of us in the undercover area in the courtyard at the rear of the restaurant, with heaters, seating area, music and fantastic atmosphere. They accommodated everything we could have wanted and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Perfect venue. Thanks all...

Superb modern restaurant! 5* food, 5* drinks, 5* service and 5* atmosphere. Welcoming smiley staff help you to settle in quickly. Theres a large variety of choices on the menu, i picked tuna tartare to start, monkfish for main and the ' deconstructed chocolate bar' for dessert, completley faultless. Fabulous cocktail list!! The bar and waiting staff were attentive, approchable and professional. All in a warm sophisticated setting. Will 100% be back very soon !

Looking for a place for lunch before heading to the theatre for a matinee performance, we chanced upon Purchases. The pretty courtyard sold it - a cool & quiet oasis hidden from the busy shops and burning sunshine. What a great choice - the food was excellent (all 3 courses for both of us) as was the house Rose and the staff were absolutely delightful! This was followed by an amazing production of 'Fiddler on the Roof' with Omid Djalili. A pretty perfect day!!
Excellent pre theatre meal served by staff who demonstrated genuine interest in their clients experience. Lovely menu served attractively with good house wine.
Such fantastic food, great service and a wonderful, warm and friendly place to be. Just had our anniversary dinner here and will defiantly be returning!! A little gem in the heart of Chichester! If you want a real treat, this is THE place to go!

O.M.G - the food is amazing as are the cocktails! Its good value for money and the service is friendly and efficient. This was our second visit and we shall be going again, and again! I especially recommend the 'Variation of Strawberry' for pud, it was sublime.
Decided to sit in the courtyard area for the evening . Fab time had by all even though the weather let us down . Comfy seating area and nice lighting, the cosy throws are a nice touch . Great staff, nothing was too much trouble. Suffice to say we will be back! P.S . Need some more photos on your pages the few that are there do not do the place the justice it deserves
My new favourite restaurant in the South of England. Fab environment, excellent service, nice and buzzy, very attentive staff. Food excellent. I have a Rapeseed Oil allergy which I made them aware of before dining there. The Head Chef rang me up, asked me what I wished to eat from the menu and he assured me that I would be able to eat without concern as he would make sure there would be no Rapeseed Oil present in my dishes. Absolutely first class. Loved it!
Love the food here, sadly on my last visit for my Birthday there was a mess up with our orders so we had a very long wait for our main course. Booked to go again in a couple of weeks. Rooms are lovely too
set menu at 1800. £25 per head for 2 courses. Excellent value as extremely good food. The courtyard setting is picturesque and romantic. Service by all faultless. Lovely bottle of rose. 2 very good G&Ts. Coffee, £135 including service charge. I recommend and will return!
Another fabulous experience at Purchases, Chichester. The service from the staff was exemplary and the food is excellent. They serve fabulous cocktails too. The walled courtyard garden at the back has a relaxed and sophisticated vibe and is the place to be on a summer's evening. We'll be back again soon!
Been to Purchases on a number of occasions & I have always had a wonderful time. The outside dining area is stunning and has a great atmosphere, especially in summer. The rooms upstairs are beautifully decorated too, my partner and I had a lovely 1 night stay.
Just discovered this gem of a place to stay and eat when visiting Chichester. Only 10 minutes walk from the Festival Theatre, their Restaurant offers pre-theatre menu - high quality cuisine, with the best ever calves liver - and also after theatre light meals. They have 5 rooms, ours was very comfortable and the bath-towels matched the best of 5* hotels.
Central Chichester location, excellent and eclectic dining/bar with various seating options from street side tables to garden tables with bar and indoor restaurant options. Excellent menu with good wine list. Not cheap, but well worth it
Yummy fish and triple cooked chips with the nicest home-made rosemary and sea salt bread I've ever tasted. If only you could buy it! Or at least let me have the recipe!
Lovely 3-course meal at a very affordable price. All the staff were really friendly & helpful.
Great place to visit, fabulous food and cocktails, just a shame that closes at 11pm.

Fantastic night out for dinner to celebrate a 60th birthday. Food and service was excellent. Made to feel very welcome and service was very attentive, but not overly in your face.

Came here for my birthday meal with my partner and we still go on about it after.
The service was amazing and the food was sublime. They just made everything a real treat.
The only downside is parking and how far you had to walk to get there but I understand this isn’t fair to be taken against them and we would happily do it all over again!

Lovely place to eat !! But I'm afraid when we went in it lacked the lustre it normally has .and one of the puddings was not good !!
Service is excellent and the food is very good. I had a query with my food and this was dealt with extremely promptly and professionally, showing that customer satisfaction is paramount for this restaurant. Good range of drinks including ales.
First visit. Sunday lunch yesterday. Lovely warm welcome. Nice table and surroundings. Great service throughout. Food was excellent. Nice starters. Excellent Sunday Roast dinner. Perfect deserts. We had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Highly recommended. Would definitely return.
