Always a lovely place to visit. Ordered a meal I've had before and when it arrived it was very small, ask the waiter if it was a kids meal as I was shocked and the response was lacking to say the least. Apart from that it was a great experience.
Went for Sunday roast first time visiting. Had to wait for our food, but to be fair we was told about this before we ordered and it wasnt that long either. The food was excellent nice atmosphere lovely big pub. Glad we went and when we are back in Derbyshire will go again.
Had the Hunter's Chicken with a gammon on the bottom. Was beautiful. Great service beautiful scenery. Quality food.
Had a family get together to celebrate a birthday. Food is really good lots of choice.. we were told 30 mins waits, but I think it was a lot quicker. Nice staff. The favourite was Hunters chicken, but I had the Roast.
Took a group for a Christmas meal, and they all enjoyed it, especially the dessert 🍨.
Staff were very good and patient, as was a large group. Christmas Crackers on table, which was well laid out.

Been back to the Smithy Pond tonight after not being for several years. Great value food (ordered off the classic menu range). Food was delicious, and the beer was also very good. Only downside was having to queue to order drinks with those ordering food. Could do with two separate places for each.

This is in a lovely location next to a lake. You can sit outside if you can find a spare seat! Small kids play area. Modern inside, both food and service were good for the price you pay.
Found this pub via Google maps after visiting Chesterfield. Lovely location. Nice friendly pub. Range of ales available. Good standard of food served with a smile on a nice hot day. Space outside overlooking the pond if you prefer. Will definitely come back again.
Nice family friendly pub with seating outside, next to a large pond with plenty of wild birds to watch. Only gave 4 stars for service due to the place being busy and the food is freshly prepared so there is a possibility of a small wait at busy periods.
Always good food,staff are friendly and helpful.Lots of seating areas inside and out and a lovely view over the pond.Would recommend.
I visited the Smithy Pond today for lunch with my sister. We were welcomed by the young lady at the bar and we took our drinks outside. Both the inside and outside of the pub was clean and tidy and we chose a table with a fabulous view of the pond and the birds that have made their homes there.

Food good value, drinks are quite pricey. Lovely setting, nice play area for kids.
However, can not justify how I was charged £11-50 for a large Shiraz.
