Staff really friendly, along with the locals. 10 of us had Sunday lunch and all went away completely full as portion sizes were very good. The food was traditional home cooked roast and was delicious. We had 5 dogs with us which was not a problem to them, the Landlord even took photos of the dogs sitting on one of the covered chairs.
The meal was beautiful, coked nice, home cooked food and plenty of it. The staff and chef were all very friendly. Will definitely be going back

Called after a walk around Linacre Reservoirs. Very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime, only a couple of people in. We sat outside and had food and soft drinks. Fish finger sandwich and bacon and goat's cheese sandwich were lovely and proper home cooked chips were great too. Friendly service, though it may have been a long wait if the pub had been busy. Overall and pleasant enough experience.

I have come here to meet a fellow I've never actually met in person before (though I've known him 10 years or so) and having done so have also had a chat with the landlord.
Really nice landlord; really nice pub too. Great atmosphere and I must come back again. (I live Staveley way).
Yep this is a fantastic pub IMHO. Couldn't rate it higher.

Tracey was an excellent hostess, very freindly and accommodating. I had the ale pie and chips which was very good, home cooked and flavoursome. My wife had the homemade lasagne which was also excellent. Well worth a visit.

Had the funeral wake for our lovely mum, thank you for a wonderful spread, respectful service and kind words , Bessie loved it here and she certainly would have liked today

Good food, properly cooked! Extremely friendly, homely atmosphere. Staff wonderfully helpful and with a sense of humour, that matters a lot! Highly recommend this pub. Will definitely come here a lot more often!
