The starter of Mussels in white wine and cream was absolutely gorgeous ! Better than the Mussels I had in Brugges in December ! The main course of Salmon was cooked to perfection ! No room for Dessert Haha !! Generous portions! Lovely staff ! Early Mother's Day Meal for me ! Would recommend The Elm Tree to anyone wanting good food ! Compliments to The Chef and kitchen staff, in fact all staff ! OMG I could go on and on and on :D
We'd been to Bolsover Castle and googled to find a good eating place near by and this one looked good!
I have to say it was excellent! The staff were very friendly and attentive and the menu choice was fab. I had mussels as a starter followed by salmon fillet with freshly made pasta and spinach and even tho I was quite full with gentle persuasion from our waitress decided I couldn't resist the special ice cream of 'honey comb and fig' in a brandy basket! With a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to compliment the dishes. My parents had the Halibut and highly recommended it! We will def consider travelling back again from Derby in the future. Thankyou for making our day out a delight! 😃
Had been once before, it was excellent. We came this time for Father's day hoping for another lovely meal and it didn't disappoint. The food is lovely and fresh and the staff are friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Booked for all the family on hubby's birthday (10 adults) ...all had carvery even the 3 grandchildren (under 2 eat free).. never disappointed, would recommend, lovely food..childrens play area and views..

Fantastic little gem of a pub, my dog loves it here sometimes when I'm out walking him he drags me here! So I am forced to have a nice cheeky pint, of course my dog usually shares it with me.
Excellent service and amazing food , excellent value for nothing was to much party of 8 for a birthday celebration, highly recommend and can't wait for a return visit...... Sunday lunch next time
This pub serves excellent food, with an interesting range of choices, generous portions, and quick service. We sat outside with our dog in lovely weather. Dogs are allowed in the bar inside. The only downside was the tinny music failing to distract from the road noise from a nearby bypass. Having said that, I'd definitely go again.

We booked a table for 15 people for my daughters birthday. On arrival the staff were very welcoming and showed us to our table.
Throughout the night the staff was very polite and always there when needed.
The food was amazing, and was all 15 dishes were served together.
Cannot recommend this pub enough. They have a great menu at flood prices, cooked to perfection and a really good bunch of staff.

revisited again after 3years. the standard of food and service were good. they are doing specical lunch £7 soup and toasty, £5 omelette and salad. the smoked haddock and slow cooked belly pork were delicious，
We arrived at 1pm on friday, it was already quite busy. my recommendation is to book advance to guarantee seats. sandwiches are in generous portions. steak and potato pies is tasty.
Nice place! Awesome views over the countryside! The outdoors area must be fantastic, if the sun ever shines!! Had 1/2 rack of BBQ ribs, & meat & potato pie, was almost as good as mine!! 👍😁

We wanted to try somewhere new for carvery and they didn’t disappoint. Staff were super friendly, the pub was clean & tidy. Carvery was perfect! Definitely recommend to book online if you can as it is very popular.

All food ordered came out at the same time,nice n hot, I had their home made lasagne absolutely delicious! The veg was good too in fact we all had different food which was all good as well,9 very satisfied ladies,the staff are very pleasant

Amazing place to chill next to the wide window with a view on a castle. Food is delicious, served fast. Only one minus - dirty catlery. Overall, nice pub to visit regularly.
Huge portions of lovely food (I had gammon and chips and it came with salad, loads of onions, mushrooms and tomatoes). The service was really freindly and quick and the room very pleasant in a pub like way.
They were very helpful with my gluten free diet too.
I chose the Elm Tree for my family to meet up after a funeral service. The staff were great, they opened up 15 minutes earlier than advertised and let us all in so that we were not stood in the carpark. We were given a room for our gathering too, which was nice. The food was spot on, nice choice, good service, and a great choice of drinks. Easy access to M1, too.
great food great views on the back. Plenty of space for children to play. Pizza oven is a nice addition for those wanting a cheap quick bite. inside looked a little dated, but nice atmosphere.
