Reviews Hygge On The Rows

Secret little cafe in the centre of Chester where you can sit unnoticed on the Rows and watch all the crowds walk by below. Three nice outdoor tables overlooking Northgate Street. There are also tables indoors. I enjoyed a homemade scone, served warm, with jam and clotted cream. It was tasty and quite substantial. For the price, it was good value, at the lower end of the current inflation-driven prices. Nice with a cuppa!

If you like historic buildings with low ceilings and beams, books and good food and coffee then you're going to love it here. They also do a book swap where you can both donate and borrow books. If you donate a book you'll get a code and then can track its journey as it gets donated again and again and can see how far away it ends up. Lovely place... 5*

Beautiful little cafe with gluten free breakfast, lunch and baked goods options. Lovely staff, has a warm atmosphere with a little book reading section. Family had Popcorn latte was stunning and I had pumpkin spice and popcorn hot chocolate oddly a beautiful combo. 🎃🍿☕️👏

When we visited it was little nikis?? What a lovely place certainly with character. The 4 of us enjoyed our paninis, then lovely cake to follow. We had 2 cuppas each also. Great food, great price, great atmosphere. The man even gave my son a Halloween chocolate at the end. I wish you lots of success in your amazing cafe. It had such a warm feeling about it, and it feels like you help a lot of people in need. Keep up the amazing work and thanks again.

Nice, cosy coffee shop. With small selection of cakes, all day breakfast option. In menu they have a gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Not on ground floor, entrance is from first floor gallery.

Easy to miss, this hidden gem is well worth seeking out. On ordering coffee and cake, on a recent visit, it was pointed out to us that there was an offer on afternoon TEA and cake for £4 each. Because we really wanted COFFEE we said we would pay the regular price, but they said that because there wasn`t much choice of cake left they would charge the offer price, which was good of them and both cake and coffee were excellent. We will try to visit again when we are in Chester

Came here on a cold rainy day with my in-laws and our family friends from America. We wanted a quaint British cafe to have have breakfast. From the moment we Walked in we felt at home. The cafe was quaint, very clean and welcoming. The prices were very reasonable and the tea was lovely and enough for two people to have multiple cups from a single pot. The breakfast was delicious, fresh and of great quality. But the star of the show by far was the host Colin. He was friendly, funny and did everything to make our stay memorable. Both ourselves and our guests will never forget our breakfast here and we can't wait to be back in Chester so we can come for another brew with Colin.

In a town full of cafes many offering similar things and many quite disappointing we feared this cute cafe in the rows would just be a tourist trap but were pleasantly surprised at good quality, fair pricing and friendly staff and dog 🐕. Very cozy and hygge British style. Confused about the name though. Was looking for Niki's Cafe as per WiFi Address...could do with improved airing for the cooking smells but probably price to pay for the historic location.

Great cafe in Chester, nestled away from the hustle and bustle on the Rows. Great vegan and vegetarian options and such friendly staff you feel like part of the family! Had the most delicious vegan sausage bap in *the softest* bread I've ever eaten, coffee was excellent, and the cakes look spectacular (though I didn't partake). Will definitely be back!
