Hamayuu is a lovely Japanese restaurant . We've been there a few times and love Hamayuu. We recommend the sushi and fried chicken(called karaage)The staff are also very nice. On weekends, I think it's better to make a reservation.
Lovely Japanese restaurant with very attentive and thoughtful service. Very clean as you would expect, and with a real eye for detail with their food.

We had the chicken bento boxes which is a great way a sampling a variety of delightful bites whilst getting a very satisfying meal.
Food was delicious and so flavourful, and good value for money.
Also it's next to the Warhammer store so everyone wins when you take your wife out for a meal here 😉
Really good sashimi and sushi and service was perfect we got some great advice on sake and the food was so good we ordered more seafood gyoza were exceptional too can't wait to come try more
Ordered a bento box with some avocado maki and wow. This place has a brilliant atmosphere, and even has tatami mats to make everything feel a bit more authentic. Food was gorgeous and cannot fault the staff as they were great. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend took me here for a birthday meal, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Can't recommend enough!
Really excellent dining experience. Restaurant itself had a very busy, lively Atmosphere. Food was incredible with an extensive menu and I was able to try things I'd never had before. I especially enjoyed the Eel! Staff were attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back!
The best Japanese restaurant we’ve been so far. Prices are affordable yet the quality of food is outstanding. Delicious food! Will come back here whenever we’re in Chester.
Good and authentic food. The service was fast and efficient. The place itself is quite small but cosy. Both my boyfriend and I were very impressed and would definitely come back to Hamayuu.

Wow what a lovely experience had. I have been here a few times and always had great service and food , however my last visit was super special and really made my day. I was greeted at the door by a wonderful lady dressed in a gorgeous floral japanese outfit. She complimented how bright I looked in my own outfit I wore that day and sat me to a window view table. All the staff are always so lovely which is one of the reasons I love to visit. The second is their rainbow roll 🌈 🍥 which is super tasty. I was then given an adorable yellow crane origami bird that the kind waitress had made me. I had my 🌻 handband in so I took a flower from that and gave it to the waitress a little later in return and she stuck it to the till. Its so pretty in this place with florals and lights and the ice cream mochi for after is always a treat with the garnish of fruit 🍡 🍓 thank you I'll be back again soon
Service was fast and friendly, staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and happy to talk you through dishes. Food was fresh, tasty and authentic, good portion sizes and great value for money. Restaurant was beautifully decorated and jpop playing in the background made for a lovely atmosphere.

Lovely atmosphere & attentive staff, we came in when it was quieter so it didn't take long from being seated to getting our food. We had the cucumber sushi which was delicious, as well as the chicken katsu curry which was so warming, perfect for rainy autumn weather. The only thing I would say is that my chicken was a little bit tough and hard to chew, the flavours were delicious though this is the only thing that was an issue. Would definitely return, absolutely loved the experience, credit to the waitress/front of house who took our order & served us, she was so lovely.
The food here was amazing! We both had dumplings for starters and they were super tasty and cooked to perfection. For mains I had the chefs choice sushi platter and my friend had the chicken yakisoba. The sushi was perfect and my friend loved her yakisoba. We both had mochi ice cream for desert too and it was a perfect finish to the meal. We will definitely be coming back <3 I would also like to add that everything was presented beautifully. It was like art on a plate. Everyone that worked there was extremely lovely too!!

I’m so pleasantly impressed with this place! It’s located just off of a busy street but there’s no noise disturbance only the chatter of customers within. It feels very homely as the atmosphere is cozy and the servers are super friendly. I can’t fault the food whatsoever - everything we ordered came out beautifully and it was so delicious I don’t think I stopped to talk. We also got Mochi and two plates of Daifuku to share which were in my boyfriends words “to die-fuku for.” (I’m sorry to the server he said this cringeworthy pun to I really tried to stop him.) Also to the female server that sold us the candies they were delicious definitely try them! ☺️
Tuna tataki excellent. Salad a little small. Sashimi platter was fresh. Friendly service. Sadly no rolls (eg California) or soft shell crab on the menu.
