The food was incredible nice. I had been there with my boyfriend via coupon, so we had different menu, but some type of food was missing so we could order from the main menu, it was a nice option. Thank you.

Really nice food, brilliant staff. The chips were delicious with some great seasoning. Burger was lovely but it could have done with some black pepper and salt maybe some onion or something to add to the flavour. Otherwise brilliant service and staff. Will be coming back in the future for more.

English breakfast in a French cafe, may not be the done thing, but it was very enjoyable. The waiter is an asset to the establishment and he adds to the atmosphere.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch in a relaxed atmosphere , food was very nice and well presented service excellent , wasn't rushed , will def go again 😊 went back Jan 2018 , again had a fab lunch ,staff still as efficient and food again well presented

We had a five hour drive from Kent and called in on a Thursday night. I’m here on business and my husband came too, as we we’re going to make a weekend of it in the north west. First impressions were that they might have been short-staffed, as there were only two people front of house. However - the service was impeccable and both servers went the extra mile to ensure that we had a fantastic night. The food was great but what made the difference was their ability to connect with us, even though they’d never seen us before and would probably never see us again. By the end of the evening we were the only customers left. Whilst most staff would have been keen to get the bill settled to enable them to tidy up and go home, both women were happy to indulge us by engaging in conversation and if I wasn’t up very early tomorrow I’d have wanted to continue our conversations for much longer. In summary - a great venue, great food but more importantly great staff who made it a great experience. Thank you both and I hope that the management recognise just how much of an asset you both are. PS I’m a professional facilitator and frequently deliver workshops on how to deliver excellent service. If Café Rouge used mystery shoppers, these two would score at least 15/10 on customer service

We enjoyed our meal here. The restaurant was clean and tidy and well maintained. The decor and ambience are both tasteful and well chosen. The service was polite and helpful. The food and drink was tasty, my ribeye steak was slightly overcooked, but the beef bourgignon was succulent and the sauce nice and rich.

The food was very nice as you would expect, the Cafe rouge in Chester has no phone signal for those who absolutely must use it. As always it is very well decorated and cosy. However I will note that if you are going for a work time lunch you may want to think again as the food took over 40 minutes to arrive only leaving us with around 10 minutes to leave. Overall though 4 stars is well deserved

I came to this wonderful French Style cafe restaurant today for lunch. Outstanding members of staff, a very clean relaxing environment and this is coming from someone who is very shy and awkward so the owners should be very proud of their business. The only thing i would say it is pretty expensive for very small portions, however they are very filling so it does make up for it. The orange zesty source with the duck leg was absolutely delicious! Plus I never thought I'd love dauphinoise potatoes!
