I dined here with colleagues on Tuesday evening; it was so good we came back the next night with three more colleagues making the group number 6. The food was excellent on both occasions. The staff were fantastic and took care of us all. Place was full, which is always a good indication.

Fabulous Persian Chicken Biryani last night. Hardworking staff and very accommodating for all 12 of us.
One or two things were a little slow to come to the table but they were fully booked and took the missing items which took too long to arrive off the bill.

The restaurant, as other reviews have said is a step back in time to a 70s early 80s decor, what a treat to see this rareity.

I was on my way back to the station from a Saturday afternoon in Chester city centre, and five minutes from the station I passed by this unassuming doorway to Gate of India.
It was late afternoon and I was feeling somewhat peckish and took a look at the menu in the window. The vindaloo was labelled
Very helpful and very delicious! I was there during the train stop. Hopefully next time i can stay longer and enjoy the meal inside this wonderful restaurant.

Lovely we spot. Stopped her after travelling for work and got a table. Good service and the foot was amazing. Started with poppadoms and all that comes with it and then a thali. It had a chicken tikka masala, lamb dish and a prawn pathia. Will go back. Price also is amazing for what you get.
