We booked my 30th birthday family meal at the Bluebell and were welcomed by the friendly staff immediately. I had requested one of the rooms as we wanted somewhere our little ones could have room to play without causing a fuss around other diners. When we arrived we were led to the large room upstairs and the lovely waitress brought up a box of toys for the kids to play with! Such a fab idea! The room was clean, tidy and warm and the service was outstanding throughout! We never had to ask for anything! We felt so welcome and the kids were able to play without us feeling like they were being loud or in the way! The food was outstanding and was extremely quick service! I would definitely recommend The Bluebell and will definitely be returning there soon! It's such a family friendly restaurant with a wide choice of food. Thank you so much for making my 30th birthday even more special! Fantastic! X
We stumbled upon this little gem by accident but so glad we did. Such a lovely place for a nice evening meal, great atmosphere and service was second to none. The food was amazing, and drinks to match, the sangria and the hanging kebabs would be hard to beat anywhere. Next time we visit this fab city this place will be top of the list for a visit. Thank you for making our mini-moon first night meal so lovely
Absolutely amazing place - exquisite food, gorgeous building. Have been here quite a few times and can’t recommend it enough! (Ps make sure you try the chorizo!)
We stumbled on the little gem whilst out walking around Chester in the afternoon and it looked so quirky with an appetizing menu so we booked for the evening and we weren’t disappointed! The food was really good and great service when we return to Chester we will definitely return . Thank you for a great birthday treat

Nice food .lovely little place wich we didn't realise was tapas place until we went in. nice seating area outside remembered from our last visit.would recommend and will be visiting again on our next visit to chester.
Went for our anniversary. Weren't disappointed. We recommend the steak or veggie hanging kebabs. Chocolate orange cheesecake and lemon pistachio meringue worth trying too. Friendly staff and intimate atmosphere.
I love the blue bell . The food is great and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I'm not use to tapas and was ordering all sorts , the waitress said, why don't you just have this and that for now and see how you feel, and she was being on , it was just enough. Also we was late , I called and let them know and she was brill with me. I can't wait until my next trip to Chester starting with some lovely tapas from the blue bell. Thank you very much for making our day really special xx
Sat outside in the little garden to the back and it was lovely. Food was fresh and tasty with got portion sizes for tapas. Friendly staff were the icing on the cake. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing little place. Best tapas I’ve ever had and really reasonably priced. The portions were very generous. The waitress was friendly and efficient and she made us feel very welcome. 10/10 will come back next time we’re in Chester!
Fantastic service and such a quirky little place. Thank you, Selle for your amazing hospitality. Next time we’re in Chester, we will be back! 😊🇬🇧🇿🇦
We had a delicious early event no meal here on Saturday. The service was great and the scallops the best I have had in years.
I can’t believe I’ve never been there before, but I plan to be a frequent diner in future. Really tasty tapas: I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! The buttermilk chicken things- what witchcraft the chef conjures to make them that crunchy is beyond me. Wow.
Lovely little place!service was brilliant!we had the tapas great value for money!food was piping hot would visit again definitely
Excellent food in a building that’s over 500 years old is a first for me. Great service from very friendly staff. Good value for money. Not knowing Chester at all I chose to dine here based on their Google rating and recent reviews. Was not let down. Would highly recommend.
We went to the Blue Bell for a meal today. What a fantastic place. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and very informative. Wonderful selection of tapas and drinks. The atmosphere is cosy and the music selection was great. We had complimentary churros for dessert to celebrate a birthday, and a lovely pomegranate shot to finish off an excellent experience.
We will be back
We went to bluebell tapas restaurant today with my daughter’s assistance dog . The food was gorgeous, the service was incredible and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. They even cooked some chicken for the dog! We very much recommend this place and will be going back. The paprika chicken and ham croquettes were SO good.
Came across this place by accident whilst roaming around Chester. Went back to eat in the evening. Staff were beyond great, so welcoming to us and our dog. Our dog even got special treats from the owner. Food was amazing. Opted for small tapas, recommend the goats cheese and chicken thigh in paprika sauce. Cheese board was more than generous and finished with baileys hot chocolate which was amazing. We will be returning next time we are in Chester.
We were recommended here by our air BNB host and I'm glad they did! Bluebell was in a beautiful 14th century building with a lovely atmosphere. All the staff were pleasant and attentive. The food was next to none, between the 3 of us we ordered an array of dishes that were all amazing. Shoutout to the deep-fried sticky sesame cauliflower, we could of had another bowl of that each! I will definitely be returning to Blue Bell when I next return to chester
We visited during a night out in Chester, and had a great evening enjoying 7 different tapas dishes and a jug of Sangria. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Visit the Blue Bell you won't be disappointed.
if you’re choosing where to eat in chester, i highly recommend blue bell. the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. the food comes quick and is not too expensive per person, we always come back when we can
Absolutely lovely staff: very friendly and accommodating with our pup 🐶 and quick with the orders. Unfortunately much of what we wanted was our for the day as we had come so late for dinner. Ended up with the Manchego slices atop focaccia (herb sauce) - that was utterly delicious- padron peppers, the fried goat cheese and the gambas piri. My husband had the steak and chicken croquetas. I thought the peppers were bland, the goat cheese was “good enough” and the gambas were very tasty. My husband found the steak good enough and the croquetas very tasty and filling. We ordered a cheese plate at the end and that was filled quite nicely. Also the two small glasses of fortified merlot on the house was a lovely touch. Thank you lovely staff.
Amazing food as always!
We are regulars and love the Tapas here, always fresh and well presented.
Service is always good too, Lauren has served us the last couple of times we have been in…..she is very efficient and friendly!
Cannot wait to return.
Amazing food, sangria and service.
100% recommended - best place I’ve visited in Chester.
Special thanks to Tom our server, he was lovely.
