I like a small menu. Too much choice is not a good thing and the Sunday menu was perfect for us.
Great portion size - I like to be able to walk away from a meal without feeling overwhelmed.

Just had afternoon tea, a Christmas gift from our daughters. What a wonderful treat, probably the best we've had.
The location is perfect, can't wait to go back in the summer. The food was exceptional and the staff, friendly and attentive.
Amazing food and service in Twenty2 on Monday evening. The menu is very well thought out and executed to perfection. The starters, The treacle cured salmon with golden beetroot and horseradish cream was so good. My girlfriend had the truffle whipped goats cheese and was very impressed. I then had the pumpkin risotto with Gorgonzola and my girlfriend had the venison with vegetables. We followed this with the cheese selection and coffee, all of which were excellent. You must try this restaurant as it is a very intimate dining room with very high standards.
The Chef came and chatted to us after dinner which was really nice and Mike the owner also takes the time to engage with diners, which really makes you feel welcome. The staff were all so polite and helpful. If you want an example of how things should be done, try Twenty2.
Absolutely lovely food and surroundings, attentative staff, especially the lovely young lady that looked after throughout the evening. Would definitely recommend it, and without question would dine there again, just wish their restaurant was in lincoln where we live. Beautiful!!!
Enjoyed a delicious meal here off the a la carte menu. Food was so tasty & excellent presentation. Staff were great with just the right level of attentiveness & friendliness. Atmosphere was spot on, very relaxed. Appropriate decor too. All round top notch. Will definitely return.
9 of us had afternoon tea there yesterday the service was great and staff where very friendly and checked we had enough of everything and got us more sandwiches. The food was delicious

Oh my. Had a wonderful evening with my husband here last night. The food, service and atmosphere amazing. Worth every penny. Great staff, chef and ambience. Could not and would not fault anything. Already planning a return visit for next year and the year after ���. A combined stay at Edgar House with dinner and breakfast ... do it. Just wish we could have sampled afternoon tea too ����

My partner and I went for dinner at Twenty2 for our Anniversary. I had booked 2 months in advance and mentioned that my partner has a shellfish allergy, but we fully understood that if they couldn't accommodate for that. They emailed me prior to our reservation, with a full list of the ingredients they would be using for the night, going out of their way to give us insight as to whether they would be suitable for us. Alas, no shellfish for the evening, so we were thrilled to attend.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Antonio, who showed us to their window table, which had a beautiful view into the courtyard and the river beyond. He was aware it was our anniversary and further passed on his congratulations to us.
We had booked for their tasting menu and wine pairing, so despite us knowing what ingredients were included for the evening, we weren't aware of the dishes.
Not to ruin the surprise of what they serve, the food was beyond expectations. Extremely well thought out dishes, with an overwhelming flavour, and dressed to impress. We left our plates spotless!
Antonio was absolutely brilliant. We felt his wine pairing was spot on, and his charm made us so very comfortable to spend such a special occasion there.
Just as we felt our evening was wrapped up at Twenty2, Antonio surprised us with a chocolate board with Happy Anniversary written in white chocolate. You couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces.
I highly recommend visiting Twenty2, it was truly brilliant.
Our second visit and just as wonderful as the first. Beautiful and unique location with a super friendly welcome. Fine dining without being pretentious. Our tasting menu was paired expertly with lovely wines and finished with a surprise happy anniversary chocolate plate. They'd already scored top marks but the fact we'd not told them it was our anniversary gets them extra bonus points for their espionage skills! Relaxed fine dining with superb food and great menu, definitely recommend to anyone. Cheers!
What a lovely place for afternoon tea. We stopped before going in to take photos in the garden overlooking the river. The front of house host spotted us, came out and kindly took our photograph. The whole experience was most definitely 5 star. We felt that we were important to the host, the owner and all the staff. From taking our coats, to the delicious (and substantial!) afternoon tea, to serving us coffee in the cosy lounge, we were made to feel welcome. The place is also beautifully decorated - even down to the old fashioned post box in the ladies loo! Can't recommend enough.
My wife and I came for afternoon tea for her birthday. The setting was lovely as it was a nice day so we could sit outside with views of the river Dee.
The waiter was very friendly and attentive throughout. There was a good selection of high quality food provided for the afternoon tea and I was very impressed with the tea selection. I would visit again for a special occasion.
What a lovely experience! We sat in a very a really pleasant ambience. The food was absolutely delicious. Even better we weren't asked every 5 minutes if the food was to our taste, but the service was top notch and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend the afternoon tea, and can't wait to go back!
Excellent service, the waiting staff got the right mix of being personable but not overbearing. The main course lamb was one of the best plates of food I've ever had with a well matched wine flight. Will be going again
All of the courses were beautifully prepared and presented. A highlight for me was the treacle cured salmon which was cooked to perfection.All in all a lovely evening by the river.My son and daughter-in-law took me for the tasting menu. It far exceeded our expectations.
Although the deposit could be a put off for some people, I can assure you it's worth it.

The view from the garden overlooking the weir of the river Dee is surely one of Chesters top view points.
The food is outstanding and the service was extremely personable. It a real experience and one I will be repeating again soon.

Lovely little restaurant, only few tables, very homey, extremely polite and professional staff. It is not cheap but it's a great experience. Meals were delicious. I recommend this place.
