Miss Elephant is a fantastic blend of good coffee, great waffles, and excellent value toasties. I’ve ordered from here many, many times (too many if we’re being honest) and every single time it’s been the same consistent food and service. The staff have always been lovely and very friendly.

Visited Miss Elephant a few weeks' back and thoroughly enjoyed it. They have a vast selection of tasty desserts (waffles and pancakes), as well as the best homemade chicken noodle soup and Polish pierogi I've ever had. Dishes are well presented and affordable - important in this current climate. The place itself has a good ambience and is clean. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite, and the owners are so hard-working and dedicated. An easy 5 stars and highly recommended 🤗
Delicious food and really lovely place to celebrate my daughter's 3rd birthday. The portions are huge and the staff really lovely. It is expensive so be prepared for that- our 4 toddlers shared a waffle and ice-cream and 2 adults shared a large savory pancake and a sweet one. We also all had hot drinks which was about £45
I visit this establishment weekly and wouldn't go anywhere else. It has a doorway wide enough to fit my double buggy through, which is possibly one of the few in Chester le Street that can, so therefore serves my every need. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is family orientated.
Definitely visit if you get the chance. We are visiting England from the US and just randomly found this wonderful place. The owner is very nice and attentive, and the food is very innovative and fantastic. There are many dishes that I have never seen before. It's just non-stop decadence. I can't recommend it highly enough.

we have been for the second time and we are very pleased. the first outing was on Sunday for breakfast I was surprised by the portion and the taste of everything fresh combination of scrambled eggs with salad perfect. the second time we were there in the afternoon I ate very good dumplings and my wife ate a waffle I am impressed by the taste of dumplings...my wife was delighted with the taste of fruit in waffles says she has not eaten such wonderful and good fruit for a long time and would like to know where they are ordered from . As for the service, professional friendly staff always smiling. this is a place that we will visit often and which I can recommend with a clear conscience.
Undiscovered Gem. Unfortunate location but worth going to. You'll have to drive 30 miles in any direction to get nicer waffles, pancakes, and milkshakes. I'm also a huge coffee snob but these guys impress me every time.

Went for a coffee and a catch up. Nicely decorated and clean coffee shop with friendly staff.
My mam enjoyed her cappuccino but the coffee was a little too fruity for my liking.
There is an extensive food menu but you will be very limited if you need gluten free or vegan food. Milk alternatives are served though.
The new festive gingerbread and white chocolate waffle...a little bit of heaven! Seriously delicious 😍 the usual brilliant service from the staff! Love this place to grab a bite to eat. Whether cake and coffee, a toasted sandwich or one of their amazing warm crispy waffles, everything is lovely and I highly recommend.
Love this little place, staff are lovely, food is fab! In any other country, this place would be soon busy in the evening, but it does make it easy to sit inside 😀

A bit too much chocolate on waffles so there are getting soft instead of being crunchy and also too sweet. Souse should be only on the top of whipped cream, not directly on waffle. Anyway nice place, good choice, very clean. Kids were happy.
