I haven't stayed at the hotel but my family and I visit cheser le street every couple of weeks and have lunch here, been doing it a couple of years now and have tried most of the menu all great never had any problems, my favourite is the Fiery Bird chicken burger, my daughter's is the LA burger, my wife likes the scampi, staff are lovely, friendly and efficient, bit different to when I use to drink there in the Duke's room thirty years ago :-)
Called in yesterday as I had time to kill waiting for a train. Decided to have a bar meal while I was waiting. Chose the pulled pork wrap with sweet potato fries. Food was surprisingly good, much better than a lot of bar food I've had and very reasonably priced as well. Good selection of wines . Girl serving food was very friendly as we're bar staff.

We had our Silver Wedding Anniversary party in the large function suite yesterday, the venue is very accommodating and the staff (Tom especially) were amazing and extremely helpful. We used the venue catering and it was delicious, several party goers commented on the quality of the food. We stayed overnight too and we were very impressed with the room. We couldn't be happier with the service we received xx

We booked the function room at the Lambton Arms to celebrate our engagement last week. It was a fantastic night and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you very much to all the friendly bar staff, the caterers and the DJ, you all helped make our night!
I had my 30th birthday party here on Friday night, it was fantastic! The staff were all friendly and very helpful (including the cleaning staff, who went out of their way to help us look for a phone that a guest of mine had left in the function room). The room we stayed in on the night was lovely, the food is AMAZING! The only small bit of constructive criticism I could give would be that the bath in the en suite had no handle and nothing sticky inside, so was very slippery and I nearly slipped while showering. Other than that the whole place is brill! I would definitely stay again!

Excellent John Smith's again and good atmosphere had been to Durham all day and had some good beer there but had to have a few beers in the Lambton Arms .
