The regular meet up with the girls. We have been coming to The Lambton Worm for years. Tonight was the most gorgeous meal we have ever had there ( and it’s always been good). We had the special menu which was incredibly good value. However the cheap menu did not result in cheap food - the meals were STUNNING. The service was excellent too, fairly new waiter and he did a first class job. Keep up the good work and thanks

Excellent Sunday lunch. Was worried at first when our booking could not be found, but the staff gave us a table for 4 without any fuss. The food was very good with plenty of vegetables for all to enjoy. The staff were very busy throughout the period, but managed very well to keep the customers happy. Finally, I was very happy with the bill as it did not break the bank. I would highly recommend the Lambton Worm for Sunday lunch.

Just stayed for the night after winning the valentines competition and loved it! Staff are very friendly and welcoming couldn't do enough for us. Our evening meal was lovely could not fault this at all. Checked into a very nice room, very clean and plenty room for the 2 of us. Breakfast was great too ordered what you wanted. Would definitely recommend staying here if passing through or working close by and again for food which was really nice. Thank you for our lovely stay!!

This is a fantastic hotel and would stop there again in a heart beat , the food and service was excellent, the staff were very helpful in every way even when we asked for a packed lunch for a day out we could of fed 4 of us with what was supplied. It's my husband's 60th birthday today and they even put a bottle of wine in our room for him. The sign on the door as you enter says "enter as a stranger leave as a friend " never a truer word spoken , thanks again for the hospitality

A welcoming place, spacious clean room but a bit stuffy as only one small window, bathroom with good shower but extractor not working. Ideal location for our great north run stay over, with a bit of breakfast available for early leavers. We stayed 2 nights and have booked again, the food was very nice, due to delays on yhe road we missed Sunday menu as it ends at 7pm but the menu looked well mouth watering.

Greeted with a warm welcome. Went to our room which was clean and well presented. Then the only downside to our stay. The bed was creaky, but comfortable. We booked a table for our evening meal and we were very impressed by the food. This was backed up by the breakfast in the morning. Ful English with cereals, porridge, fruit & yoghurt. Good selection of beer which was also well kept. A very good location for commuting into Newcastle or Durham.

This is the best place to stay in Chester-Lee-Street. 10/10 for rooms. Rooms are serviced everyday, so when you come back in the house evening your bed will be all done for you. It’s very cozy. 100% recommend to stay here. The food is nice, especially their chips. You will love this place.

Stayed two nights, accommodation was clean, spacious and complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water, drinks in the bar a tad on the expensive side, reasonable prices for food, but very plentiful. Had a Sunday lunch on our first day, which was awesome, second night food off the menu, wasn't as good and can only be classed as acceptable. Breakfast was above average compared to other bed n breakfasts we have stayed at in recent years. Overall we would recommend

Great food and service from this inn. Great atmosphere. Huge portion and quality food. Had Sunday lunch, wasn't sure if the veggies would be overcooked (often the case when buying Sunday lunch out), but they were perfect.

We arrived at about 19:00, checked in and went to our room. The staff were quick and polite. We stayed in the 'Amarillo' room which has steps at the door inside the room, quirky! The room was clean, the carpet felt clean and plush underfoot. The bed was clean, although squeaked a little bit when you moved vigorously. The ensuite consisted of a toilet, sink and shower and was small but functional with clean, fluffy towels. Plug sockets were plentiful and there was also a fan. The TV was a bit confusing as the remote buttons didn't correspond to the right things but it worked well. We had our evening meal here too. My partner had ribeye steak and I had the trio of lamb chops. Both were delicious and tender and very reasonably priced! And 25% off their grill section on Thursdays! Drinks were reasonably priced and a great selection of spirits and beers from their own distillery and brewery! They had a pub quiz on that we could slightly hear from our room but nothing that would keep you awake. Breakfast was a full English and was delicious! Tea, coffee and fruit juice was complimentary as well as a selection of cereals and yoghurts. Highly recommend!

I stayed with my wife for 1 night, overall it was an enjoyable stay, but as we paid £140 I feel justified in making a few comments On the plus side the room was spacious and very clean, on the negative side the wardrobe had a shelf for the tea/coffee which ment you couldnt hang your clothes up, the dressing table was in a dark corner, no light available so couldnt be used by my wife to make up. Breakfast was very good but although we were in good time most items on the buffet table were gone, and had to waite 10 minutes for coffee. I

Visited the Lambton Worm with friends following a day at the cricket at the Riverside Stadium. It was a very busy Thursday evening due to the quiz being on and most tables were reserved. However the lovely staff found us an unreserved table in the Restaurant which was light and airy. We were served our drinks at the table whilst perusing the extensive menu. Having eaten there before , knowing the considerable portion sizes, we forewent starters and ordered main meals. Between us we had the Lambton burger, the rib eye steak, the chicken casserole and the trio of lamb chops. Amazing. All cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive without being forceful and regularly checked if we needed more drinks/accompiaments. Excellent food in a lovely setting with lovely staff

Just had a night at The Lambton Worm. A warm welcome on arrival and friendly service from the landlord/manager and in particular from Sam behind the bar who made you feel like a regular. The bedroom itself was of a generous size and was clean and modern with a touch of boutique style. Good ensuite shower plus tea and coffee supplied. Also nice touches like menus in the room and a guide to local attractions plus the story of where the name comes from. Food is typical pub grub, pies, burgers etc. but done really really well. Definitely homemade not just warmed up in the microwave. Full English breakfast in the morning was just as good. Overall there is little to fault and would certainly recommend.

Really charming hotel style lodgings with adjoining restaurant and bar. Pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms. Bedroom, dressing room and large walk-in shower room.

Stayed for a couple nights with the wife; cannot fault in any way, the staff were truly amazing and accommodating. The rooms were lovely, although the bed post did have it in for me, or more likely I'm a clumsy oaf......thank you for a truly lovely break.

Wow the food was lovely. It was really quiet when we went but still had to wait a bit for the food. Wonder what the wait would be of busier

Went for Sunday dinner, nice atmosphere, food was really good, disappointed that the beef dish wasn't available, but didn't spoil anything.

Love this place and its food. They are losing a star because the brewery (Sonnet 43) has decided to stop providing the Raven stout and only supply their other beers in cans. Also, the price of the food has shot up.
