Amazing Sunday lunch in the patio area. We had both the Beef and Pork dishes which were tasty and tender. Came with sharing portions of Roast Potatoes, carrots, greens, Cauliflower Cheese and Gravy. Yorkshire pudding were to die for!!! Will be coming back. We also tried Mac n cheese which was tasty and ribs were tender, no quite fall of bone but very tender.
We went as a party of 6 and we all thoroughly enjoying ourselves and the food. All staff were friendly and helpful, a good blend of attentiveness and leaving us to it. The cocktails to start were lovely, charcuterie board delicious, and the sharing rib my partner and I had was cooked to perfection. My mum doesn't eat steak and she said thr scallops to start followed by the plaice were great. We couldn't finish it all so the staff kindly boxed up a bit of left over steak which our 2 dogs also highly approved of. Looking forward to going back soon

THE best meat in town! Staff is welcoming and friendly, wine celection is huge, and the food is delicious. What else do you need for a perfect eat out!

I attended a tasting evening where we sampled 11 different dishes. The food was exquisitely cooked. We tried the rump steak, t-bone steak, sirloin steak and fillet steak. They were all moist, tender and full of flavour. The fillet was perfect. We also tried the pig's head, the ribs, the cod, the smoked salmon and quite a few of the vegetarian dishes and side dishes. I was impressed by how many gluten-free menu options there were.
The coconut cake bar dessert was my favourite - absolutely delicious - like a gooey giant bounty! The ice creams and sorbets were also very tasty.
I loved the hidden-gem, dimly lit basement atmosphere, combined with the knowledge and passion that each dish was served with. Every dish was also very nicely presented and paired with well thought out garnishes.
The cocktails were also faultless and more unique than the run of the mill cocktails you find more other places.
If you're looking for steak or fish done right... I highly recommend The Ox. We had a very enjoyable evening and would definitely return.
Well.. as a steak lover, I can confidently say, this place is next level.

Great Sunday dinner, not the cheapest but worth every penny.
First class meal on Saturday. Sharing charcuterie board, sharing steak and ice cream nice beer and wine. A real nice evening out with delicious steak cooked to our liking in a real unpretentious restaurant
Had buffalo Wings as a starter which were ok. Steak and chips for main was nice. Staff were pleasant but had to wait for service as we were outside and they kept disappearing to the bar.
Having been turned away by ill mannered staff at The Clarence Social, we came here as our second choice - although it should probably have been out first.
The Sunday roast was excellent. The meat portion, while small was adequate but the sides were delightful. Cauliflower cheese and very crispy roast potatoes were a particularly highlight.
Service was a little pedestrian, hence the 4, not 5 star rating but this is not a reflection on the quality of the establishment - more that there didn't seem to be enough staff for the number of clientele.
The only other downside was the number of smokers sharing the garden, which was rather unpleasant.
Absolutely loved this place could possibly be the best chateaubriand we have ever eaten perfect Mac & cheese side aswell will 1000% be return next time I’m in Cheltenham ❤️ great service with very friendly staff and the dog was welcome on the terrace highly recommended 🥩
Went to the OX Thursday evening the steaks were first class and the service was very friendly and helpful highly recommended.
Really great meal, and stand out cocktails! Started (and ended) the night with a Negroni - chillled glass and perfect proportions. The rump and terrine were both great, no rush on serving but it wasn’t a long wait either. Fun atmosphere, finished with a limoncello. Couldn’t ask for more! Also, try the Ox Conference cocktail if you fancy something different, you won’t regret it!
Atmosphere is great, dark walls and furniture, mood lighting, interesting pictures on the walls. Really nice food. Steak was lovely and tender. Nice, attentive staff.

Superb service, divine steak. Mixed bag on the sides: mac 'n' cheese and greens were beautifully done, but the big chips were disappointing (had that stale potato flavour, which is distinctly different from "triple cooked" flavour) and gem salad was too fishy for me.
I would absolutely go back for that steak, so juicy and full of flavour!
The Ox has a nice decoration and cosy atmosphere. For dinner I had steak (6oz D Rump), chimichurri sauces and skin on fries.
The taste of the steak was amazing. I strongly recommend this place.
