Found this laid back Sri Lankan place whilst in the Cotswolds and I'm pleased we made the journey! They've got a whole vegan and it's absolutely fantastic. It all looked great so we ordered every vegan dish (about 12 I think..) and a hopper each. All the dishes were all really good, but half of them were amazing. The dahl is one of the best I've ever had. We took a doggy bag home and had it again the next night and it was just as good. They also do really good cocktails. It's a chain and growing which isn't surprising as it was busy at 7pm. Please open in East London, you'd do really well out here!

During my recent visit to this place, I was fortunate enough to have an absolutely fantastic experience that left me thoroughly impressed. The culinary delights that awaited me were nothing short of amazing, and I couldn't help but revel in the delightful flavors and aromas that filled the air. As I perused the menu, my eyes settled on a few delectable options that immediately caught my attention. Without hesitation, I decided to embark on a culinary journey by ordering hoppers, a traditional Sri Lankan dish known for its unique bowl-shaped pancake made from fermented rice batter. Alongside the hoppers, I opted for a serving of fried rice, a comforting and flavorful staple that never fails to satisfy. To complement these delightful choices, I couldn't resist ordering the goat curry with sambal, a mouthwatering combination of tender meat cooked in a fragrant blend of spices and accompanied by a fiery condiment. The moment my food arrived at the table, I could tell that I was in for a treat. The hoppers were freshly made and had a light, fluffy texture that perfectly contrasted with their crispy edges. They served as an ideal vessel for soaking up the aromatic curries and sambal, creating a delightful medley of flavors with every bite. The fried rice was cooked to perfection, with each grain glistening and separate, infused with a tantalizing blend of spices and adorned with colorful vegetables that added both freshness and visual appeal to the dish. And let's not forget about the goat curry with sambal—a true masterpiece of culinary expertise. The meat was succulent and tender, practically melting in my mouth, while the rich, aromatic curry sauce enveloped each piece with its deep flavors. The sambal, with its fiery kick, added an additional layer of complexity and excitement to the dish, leaving my taste buds in a state of pure bliss. What impressed me just as much as the exceptional food was the prompt and efficient service provided by the staff. From the moment I stepped foot in the establishment, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine eagerness to ensure that my dining experience would be nothing short of extraordinary. The servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and more than happy to offer recommendations or address any inquiries I had. Their professionalism and dedication were evident in their swift responses to requests and their ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.

A wonderful place to eat and drink, social ambience, friendly staff who are attentive but not overbearing. Food always so delicious, tasty and authentic. Drinks are always so superb, I recommend the negroni, so refreshing. Been a few time and will definitely keep returning, just a shame you're not my neighbourhood joint! Keep up the great work.

I had somehow never had Sri Lankan food before and was very impressed by how flavorful all of the food was. I had a party of 5 and we each ordered 3-4 dishes (which was too much for us, I'd recommend sharing 4-5 between two people). The pork belly was so good, the mushrooms surprised me with how good they were, the beef kutthu was amazing, the potatoes are skippable in my opinion (and I love potatoes!), and the fried cheese was a must. Everyone loved their food! The fact that they were smaller dishes made it so easy to try new things and to share. The service was very friendly and we really enjoyed our time at Coconut Tree. Would highly recommend!

Really enjoyed this place, the interior, the staff and service and especially the food. Would recommend to anyone, but especially the peskys and veggies out there. It's great for a small bite or a blow out.

First time coming to this establishment while on a staycation and it didn't disappoint. The food here is absolutely phenomenal. The flavours were on point and spice levels were perfect. The waitress that served us was brilliant and had great recommendations. I have to admit, the sri lankan cinnamon old fashion cocktail is top 3 on my list. The coconut ice ball is a game changer. The atmosphere was buzzing and the music was definitely up our street. Only negative I have is that the seating (benches) was really uncomfortable and not really steady. I'd recommend this place to others and I'll definitely be going back.

Tasty Sri Lankan tapas-style food - venue is previously a pub that the owners have turned into a lounge bar serving small platters of super food. I think the idea is to eat small dishes while one continues drinking into the evening - a concept that is not very common in Britain. Definitely a recommended go-to place!

Lovely little place, great service and great food. Very casual dining experience, but food was top! Portions initially seem small for the price, but the richness in flavours totally makes up for it. Can't recall there being a good variety of options for kids (writing this review many months after visiting at the end of Oct 21). The team went above and beyond with providing a fruit cake with candle for birthday celebration, was very kind of the effort they went too. Looking forward to coming back again!

We love eating here when we're in Cheltenham! Lots of lovely flavourful dishes to choose from. Great if you've got a mix of people with dietary requirements in your group. Always a fun meal out, love getting lots of different dishes to share and try together. The restaurant itself is very well presented, super cosy and colourful. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend :)
