I was visiting Chelmsford this weekend and stopped at The Breakfast Club on Saturday morning for a bite to eat.
The restaurant has a funky 60's feel to it and the ambience was really pleasant. There's seating inside, on a small terrace, and out on the street, so you can pick your level of sun exposure (or protection from the rain). The staff were all relaxed and really friendly and the food was fantastic.
As you might expect with a name like The Breakfast Club, they serve breakfast. All Day. As breakfast is the best meal of the day, this is a bit of a winner for me. We had the American Breakfast and Eggs Benedict, both excellent, and a pink chai latte - that was a new one for me - but my daughter loved it.
There was an offer for a weekend boozy brunch. Its seems like something to try, but my schedule didn't allow .. this time.
The Breakfast Club, like the song from the movie, "don't you forget about me."
Absolutely delicious breakfast!!!
The choice is amazing, the menu has a great range and something for everyone
The service was so friendly, our waitress was really cheerful and lovely
Food came out promptly and was delicious
gorgeous food and lovely staff! minus a star just bc it’s quite expensive, but still a lovely place to come with friends and family, and has loads of delicious veggie/vegan options.
Great selection of tasty brunch food and excellent service.
Lovely brunch that came in less than 20 minutes at just the right temperature! The milkshakes were super yummy and I liked how nice and refreshing the waiters were. There's seating outdoors to enjoy the sun and ample space indoors as well. Recommend!
Went with my little girl on a Saturday at around 11.30 and was shown to our table straight away, the place was busy and had a good atmosphere with music playing.
I ordered a big breakfast called the Full Monty and a coffee and my little one had pancakes and berries. The food was delicious with good ingredients used throughout and my daughter's food was nice and fresh. With a service charge the whole meal was just shy of £30.
The staff were helpful and friendly and welcoming and we wouldn't hesitate to go again.
First time visiting, won't be the last. Food was delicious. Had the All American-3 pancakes, bacon, English sausage, 2 (fried) eggs and potatoes english style. Good portion size and very tasty. Service was friendly and food order cane quickly. 4 star only because we had to request coffees twice.
This was a nice, quiet little place to visit. Good portion of food with the meals and good drink options, there is also a bar available. The eggs they use are very yellow as it says on their menu. Food stops an hour before closing. The only thing that let this place down was the fact that a service charge is automatically added - as it was our first time here, we didn't know this was the case and you would feel out of place asking them to take this off - this is an American thing to do. This should be an option to add - something most people are happy to do with good service - rather than take it off.
Came here for the first time today for lunch with colleagues. It was quiet, but for a Tuesday not unexpected. The service was great and friendly with food/drinks brought out quickly. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. I ordered from the lunch deal which was £13 for a burger/burrito/sandwich with any side and a coke. I went for the buttermilk chicken burger with hash browns. The burger was decent but nothing special and felt like a lot of buttermilk coating compared to chicken. The hash browns were great however.
Would recommend a visit if you haven't been, and I'd be intrigued to try some other dishes in the future.
Really nice brunch with my husband today. Service was quick and the food was well presented and delicious. They also let me order off the weekday menu, as what I wanted wasn't on the weekend one.
I had their smashed avocado toast, with halloumi.
Great food, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, and very tasty food and drinks ❤️ What initially started as a friends meet up for drinks during their Happy Hour ended up being dinner as well. Highly recommend the Double cheese burger 🍔 Chips during happy hour is a welcome and unique treat! Definitely worth a visit. Some meal items may be larger than you expect! 😃
Today was very busy, but an impeccable service all the same. I had the breakfast club burger. It was tasty and ginger shot with a free tea. I bumped in to an old family friend and her guests so it was really breakfast club atmosphere. What a coincidence!
Friendly service and really good food. My only criticism is the thick bacon with pancakes, would be better thin cut bacon (but that's just my preference).
I came in having heard rumours of a wicked Christmas themed lunch. I ordered the Camembert Christmas thingy. Wow! Amazing flavour , Brussels, parsnips, pickle red cabbage, spinach and of course camembert ! Served in a soda bread bun. The presentation was really good too, attentive friendly staff led by Abby. Can't recommend this festive themed treat enough!
Since the opening announcement in November we’ve been excited to hit the breakfast club in Chelmsford. We’ve heard so much about their London sisters.
We were not disappointed!
The void following Boxing Day did not deter staff. All seemed to have a smile on their face, were very welcoming and had a little play with baby FoodMunkey.
I opted for the American stack deluxe which unfortunately was out of stock. So went for the standard American stack 😂 .
The pancakes were extra fluffy, bacon the perfect amount of crispy, eggs perfectly poached and the sausages not too herby (can’t stand a sausage that tastes like a flower garden lol).
My mum and little dude went for the French toast which was proper. Cornbread French toast! I was glad it was too much for baby FoodMunkey to eat as it meant I had some too.
Disco hash was immense if not a little on the spicy side for my wife. She’s not a massive fan of spice but wanted to be a little adventurous. She loved it but just couldn’t quite finish it.
Oh and the Bloody Mary! Wow!
Genuinely can’t wait to head back and try out the rest of the menu!
My second visit here. Always great food and service. Definitely recommend.
Very friendly service, nice food. Only complaint was that my cappuccino was not very hot when it arrived. Would recommend the pancakes.
A fantastic place for a relaxed brunch - amazing menu choices - so good you may struggle to work out exactly what you want! All this delivered with friendly service and at a good price!
