Excellent F&C, thoroughly recommend. Don't normally eat fish & chips but heard they were amazing, literally the best chips I've ever had and the squid was incredible. Massive pieces and decent portions, apparently all fresh from the market that morning. Highly recommend the bread crumb squid and the haddock was delicious.. Shamelessly ate all the batter and couldn't stop at the chips even when they were cold. Will definitely be back for more! Thanks!!
Came across this place by accident, was in the area and googled near by chip shops and this one was near by. Beautiful little chippy very clean and Great staff, best chips I have ever tasted and variety of fish is amazing. My new favourite place, well done Fish Shack.
10 out of 10 for hygiene as the lady sanitised the temperature stick for testing that the chicken nuggets were cooked thoroughly. Fish is fresh & a lovely crispy batter, very nice but disappointingly the chips taste more like those from a Chinese takeaway rather than being proper chip shop chips (which would be fine if you fancied a Chinese but not proper fish & chips). They also don't do cod roe either. The fish is lovely but you can't have fish & chips without proper chips so a star deducted for this reason.
First time trying this chippy and have to say the chips are super . Ordered medium cod again super and huge. Ordered two medium chips for three and still had loads left over . This will now be my go to chippy and just have to decide what to try next. Far more range than you would expect from a chippy 5 stars highly recommend π
Freshly cooked fish, gluten free options, great chips, what's not to love. Good value. Inside tip, go for the lunch time special, terrific value.
I ordered twice so far, both times the food was fresh and really good ( not fast-food good, I mean proper good π). I had the lunch deal fish and whole king prawn battered. Will try the beef burger next time, as I see someone recommended. Also the staff was cool π
I had the cod and chips .the fish was first class.the chips i wasnt over keen on i thought they tasted like frozen chips.The chippy advertising states the fish is from billingsgate but does not say it is british boats that have landed it. I wish they could say that as the eu rules which still remain for our fishermen are unfair.
