Please please please can you do gf fish and chips.
My son lives in Bury St Edmunds and they serve gf battered line caught cod and chips - every day - people travel a long way to them (someone had come from Norwich) to get delicious fish and chips. They're not a huge shop but they do have dedicated gf fryer and a regular queue. Virtually every other customer orders gf.

Robinson's fish and chip shop in the whole of Essex and we have sampled many none of them come anywhere near a Tasty and cooked to perfection as Robinsons.... Myself and Husband have been going in there now for over 40+ years ... The food is outstanding and the people serving are always nice and polite and can have a laugh and joke with you.also they are always smiling... Always there to help you

The best fish & chips in Chelmsford I wouldn’t go any where Else the ribs r lovely the chips r always fresh the batter on the sausage is always fresh & clear the girls on the till r always polite an quick with the orders

Robinson's has always been my favourite for proper' fish n chips. Used the Deliveroo service tonight, food was hot and super tasty as always, I'd recommend them can always be relied upon for sure!!

The food at Robinsons is always really tasty, good sizes, the staff are very friendly. Very clean and fresh shop. Been getting food from here for years and always very happy. It's a very nice family company that you can see takes pride in delivering good service. :-)
Quality fish and chip shop. It's been going since 1902 for a reason. I always get large cod and small chips and both are always fresh and delicious. Service is always good- you never have to wait long. It's not the cheapest chippy in Chelmsford but it is the best.
Haven't been to Robinson's in a while. Sought them out as my hungover daughter wanted fish and chips on a Sunday evening, and our usual place was closed. Think this will now be our go-to! Fish cooked fresh, very large portions. Perfect thin batter, really good piece of fish, light on the grease. Decent mushy peas too. Just what the hangover doctor ordered!

The quantity of the food can be a bit inconsistent, but the quality is amazing and their batter is unrivalled. Staff are friendly and one girl in particular (Evie, I think her name is?) is especially welcoming and always makes it a pleasant experience going in!
Rediscovered this fish and chip shop after many years of not living in the right areas of Chelmsford. As a lad and young man robinsons used to be on my walk home or nearby for all fish and chip needs. Now rediscovered during lockdown we as a family have had amazing hot, fresh and frozen food from them with great service and customer communication, especially when ordered is going to be slightly late. My kids love the food and so do we. We've also ordered frozen food for bbqs and meals... such as ribs, burgers, bacon(amazing) and other products.....
Try them out and see what you think. Robinsons is part of Chelmsfords history and long may it continue.

A great family business. They are very friendly. The Cod is always FRESH. Chips is also always fresh.
I called to order and I was told it will be ready in 10 minutes. I got there in 10 minutes, and they delivered.
Always nice tasting food. Staff are sweet. (Dropping a star because Non-staff sitting on buckets, mouthing off in the back area can be a bit off-putting. But good food.
The food was good, but I was disappointed with the size of a large portion of chips.
Where I normally go, a large portion would have filled one of the long boxes, but they gave me only one box, supposedly containing two large portions!
Hands down the best Chippy in Chelmsford and possibly Essex. Chips are beautiful and staff are all lovely. The guy in the back always says hello - really good people and great food here get yourself down to Robinson's if you're in town.
Ordered a burger, ribs and chips for the OH and I had pie and chips. We decided to order via the web site rather than Just Eat. Estimated time was 60 mins. It actually came within 40 mins (which was great, as we were hungry) Overall we were very impressed. Food was nicely warm when it came. All cooked well, my OH loved his burger. Would highly recommend. Thank you 🙏

They are still yummy, we had some last week and I think they were probably the perfect chip!
Food always been decent, some staff were rather rude when I last went Moaning that more customers were coming in because they were near closing time. I’d be like great more money coming into the business but they seemed to not want the business.
Very nice fish n chips, curry saucy and burger for all of our family.
Keep the good food coning and we will keep buying!
