The food was delicious and the service was great. Reasonably priced too. The decor and ambiance was modern but evocative. Altogether an excellent dinner out.
A perfect Indian takeaway! Absolutely delicious. A beautifully creamy chicken korma full of flavour and the chicken was really soft. The biriyani was delicious too! Will be ordering again very soon!

My friend recommended the jumbo tandoori grilled chicken dish and it did not disappoint one bit, i liked the combination of lamb and chicken as well as shish kebab with vegetables, the highlight was the super juicy and tasty chicken which filled me right up and left me wanting more the following night. The staff are always exuding friendliness and good vibes too which leaves me with no choice but to give 5 stars. Solid restaurant.
Very impressed with the Lamb Biriyani and each variations has it own marination and amalgamations of Biriyani it was awesome. Personally first thought that the portion would suffice - but was surprised that the box was like a Houdini's magic box it had more quantity to feed two. I've eaten a lot of Dhansaks over the years, all across the UK, and I can hands down say this was the best one hands down! Perfectly cooked, flavourful, tender chicken, gorgeous!! Speedy delivery too in only 25 mins, Thanks Taj will be back!!
Haven't had a bad meal from here. Used to love the sitar before that closed down but taj mahal night is now my go to. Food is always hot and consistent with flavour and quality.
I’ve struggled to find a good Indian takeaway since moving to Chelmsford but recently tried Taj Mahal Night and it was incredible. Me and my partner both agreed we wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Never had a meal delivered cold and the ingredients always taste fresh.
We ordered chicken biryani, plain naan, lamb madras, saag panir & pilau rice. All dishes were very tasty, my madras was the perfect level of spice, my partner said his biriyani was delicious, the portion sizes were great too. The saag panir was the best I’ve tried since recently moving to Chelmsford, Taj Mahal added extra cheese on the top and this went down really well for me. It was perfectly blended altogether with spinach, cream and cheese. After ordering online I phoned and asked for a pot of yoghurt and this was added to our order with no problems. Our meal was delivered quickly for a Sunday evening and the delivery driver polite and friendly also. All round a very positive experience and will be back. Thanks Taj Mahal
Ordered from here many times before and it's always been amazing! They do many delicious curries and I also especially love their samosas. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner!
The food was incredible. However, the service was slow, it took quite a while to get the food ordered and also to get the bill.
Friday night- ordered early and food arrived 35 mins later piping hot. The vegetable thali was absolutely amazing, I’d go as far to say as nicest takeaway I’ve had and the portion sizes were huge, not small thali portions I was expecting ! Freshly prepared and flavours really good, not mushy or indistinguishable like many vegetable Indian dishes I’ve had before. Call later in evening from restaurant manager to check if we were happy with our order! Highly recommended.
