My family and I decided to visit Harvester in Chelmsford for a casual Sunday lunch, primarily to cater to my child's hunger. I was looking for a place close to Nando's, and Harvester seemed to be a good choice. Little did we know that our experience would far exceed our expectations, leaving us with a lasting impression of excellent service and great food.
Upon arrival, the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly to both my child and me. They provided my kid with their own menu, crayons, and other little touches that made her feel special. I would like to especially mention our server, Kim, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Despite it being a sunny Sunday afternoon, she exuded warmth and attentiveness, ensuring that our experience was nothing short of fantastic.
The entire team at Harvester was accommodating and eager to help, regardless of our requests. This exceptional service truly set the tone for our enjoyable meal. The salad bar was pristine and well-stocked, with each ingredient in its proper place. The attention to detail and cleanliness was commendable, and it was clear that the staff took pride in maintaining this high standard.
The food itself was delightful. My child enjoyed the kids' meal, which was both tasty and great value. She particularly loved the "build your own sundae" dessert option. As for my meal, I had a chicken wrap that was satisfying and enjoyable.
Our experience at Harvester in Chelmsford was a pleasant surprise. The warm and professional service from the staff, particularly Kim, left a lasting impression on us. We would definitely return to this establishment and recommend it to others looking for a friendly, family-oriented dining experience. Food was absolutely excellent, cooked by Sam.
Sharon was a very attentive waitress who was able to give us all we needed.
Reception guy a little cool hence 4 stars rather than 5 but nonetheless looking forward to going again.

Food again cooked by Sam, all 3 beautifully done, and the starter tomato & basil soup delicious.
3 stars for atmosphere as it being half-term, resto full of very noisy children- not Harvester’s fault!
Once again, would thoroughly recommend for value and good food, and our waitress Lyn as attentive as ever!
Tracey was a lovely server, patient and understanding as we had two young kids with us. Food was awesome (thanks to chef Sam!) as usual. Great stay, music around the bar area needs turning down but apart from that it was fantastic.

We enjoy a harvester and have not been to this one for years but we were really taken back by how lovely our experience was. Both myself and partner commented that it was the best harvester we've had in ages. The service was great, the salad bar was all very clean and super fresh, the bread rolls were amazing in the last couple of years we have never visited a harvester that cooks their bread rolls! They were delicious and warm with a little crunch ...perfect. Both our mains were cooked to perfection.
Plenty of seating. Went on a Monday evening and was surprisingly busy. Staff were quite friendly. Salad bar was fully stocked. Only negative was certain items on the dessert menu were not available due to them changing their menu the following week. Parking available but can imagine it getting very full if the restaurant was busy.
Our server Lyn was absolutely fantastic! She was friendly and polite and answered any questions we had, she was also chatty to our children.
Just come back again and been served by Lyn again, fantastic service and lovely food!
Food and service can be a bit hit and miss sometimes... generally because it seems really busy when we go and the team always seem very busy. Today the food and service was good. I always hope to get served by the older lady (sorry I can't remember her name but she's not really old) as she s the best waitress there.
The waiting staff were attentive and really welcoming. The orders were taken promptly and efficiently.
The food was well presented and cooked, the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered (meduim).
Had a great lunch. The food is always good but the service was truly the best we have ever had. The Chef was Sam but Lynn really deserves a shout out. So friendly, helpful and cheerful
Server Kim chef Sam/Archie. Fantastic meal. Rotisserie chicken was so tender and succulent. Good space between courses. Kim our server was fantastic, friendly and polite. Had a very good evening meal. Keep up the good work harvester
Shared a nice family meal recently on a Friday night. We were able to book ahead and were given a nice big table for our party of 5.
Extensive menu, plus great choice for kids. The drinks menu was also good, with a wide selection of non alcoholic drinks.
Our server was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long. As usual, we made the most of the salad bar, which was well stocked. No room for desserts as absolutely stuffed!
Plenty of free parking available, but be aware that you need to enter your car registration on the screen as the entrance otherwise you'll be fined.

Had a good meal here tonight. My daughter has allergies and our server Tracey was very good, even confirming the details and checking to be completely definite for the dessert which is always a difficult course. Food was served quickly and accurately. Can't fault it.
We've eaten here as a family many times and keep returning. Last visit was for 16 of us as a family gathering for a Birthday party.
Food and service is always excellent from visit to visit. Good portions and parking has always been available for us.
Was served by nova and chicco yesterday great experience would deffo come for breakfast again even got free toast what a bargain and unlimited tea
I took my father in his mobility scooter for lunch having booked in advance and advising he had a disability, a table close to the salad bar with room around had been selected. The server Lyn was very attentive and looked after us very well. the food is very good considering the price you pay for 2 course plus the complimentary salad. Easy disabled access means we will be back again.
