3 of us had lunch. What a lovely experience. The pub has a nice relaxed feel to It and the food was delicious. Staff were so lovely and helpfull. Worth a visit. Just go you won't be disappointed.

One of the very best pubs in the centre of Chelmsford with a great offering of drinks and a really great menu. The beer garden is very large and is right by the River Chelmer. I highly recommend this pub / restaurant πŸ‘Œ

I booked a room to stay whilst visiting friends in Chelmsford. What a beautiful room, well designed, amazing character and super clean. Check in was easy and then you have 24 hour access to your room , even when bar closes. Would recommend and I will definitely be back when I return to the Uk

Tiny bit of a trek from the city centre but the rooms were really nice, loved the style of them! We stopped for a drink before we went up to our room and it was a lovely atmosphere in the pub as well!

Only visited for the bar and beer garden. Beautiful beer garden with something like 40 benches, right by the river which was nice too. Lots of choice for beers. Will definitely return.

A very busy end of year Friday filled with teachers getting drunk, recovering from a year hard at the grind stone! Great outdoor section where my friends were allowed to smoke (a bonus for them, not me πŸ˜„). Service was quick and the food was of pub standard, quick to arrive and hot which is great regardless of quality. The river view was a little hidden, but it is there somewhere between the bushes and reeds. I would recommend it if you are in the area, being a Young's it brought back a few childhood memories of horse and drays delivering the barrels and the smell of hops that fill the air in Battersea and Wandsworth. All in all not a bad experience πŸ˜„

Roast dinner was amazing! I'm usually not a fan, prefer home made but was not disappointed. Pork, stuffing, red cabbage, parsnip, carrots, greens and crispy roasties and home made yorkshires. And I got a side of cauliflower cheese.

Went for staff drinks with my workmates. Lovely atmosphere, ok priced, nice furniture. The outdoor area is best to sit, lovely flowers and a pond out there.

Did not stay there ! . Only popped in for a drink. Quite busy ! . Outside was busy ! , we wondered why there was a couple of tables outside that no one was using, then we found out it was because of midges hovering above the two tables closest to the river

Absolutely perfect place to stay and visit the little town. Very comfortable and quiet. Much better than the premier Inn.
