Visited with my wife last evening for dinner! Excellent meal as usual plus we had 2 free gin blooms! That deal finished yesterday but they were terrific! Cafe Rouge in Chelmsford is a lovely place to visit for a friendly coffee or meal. The service was excellent. Three vegetarians and we all had something different. The risotto and the chick pea burger were particularly good. Food was freshly prepared but still arrived in a decent time.
Went on a Groupon deal. Had a delicious French onion soup. And husband had a pasta dish to start which was very tasty. Really good value via the Groupon. Had a lovely Bellini Cocktail which would have been far nicer with a raspberry in. But that's just personal opinion. Staff were very friendly and
Great atmosphere, very helpful staff and lovely food. Only exception was that our Son's burgers were very dry and burnt. A real shame as the adult meals were so tasty and well presented.

Our family of three all had great meals. Our server Darina was a pleasure and suggested a beautiful French wine. The highlight of the meal were the mussels. Fresh, well seasoned and the broth was amazing.
Just a really comfortable venue....gin to die for. ZACHI is really attentive good service with a decent pace . Not rushed not slow. Lights dimmed so other half doesn't need to gaze into my eyes. Lovely place to meet chat and relax.
