The best Ploughmans around, cakes to die for too! Making this our regular Saturday afternoon treat after a little stroll with the dogs along the river.

A favorite place to walk the dog and enjoy the river. Lovely views and a great tea room. Also boat trips in the better weather. Great place to unwind and get some fresh air.

Lovely little tea room, very scenic. We had lunch on a busy Sunday just as it started to rain so it was completely full up. We had a slight wait for our lunch but it was lovely and service very efficient even though it was busy.

What could be better than on a warm early Summer day, to stroll along the banks of the canal and drink coffee and to eat delicious cakes?? We will definitely be returning if only for another slice of yummy cake

Had sandwiches and cake for our lunch - ample filling in the sandwich and the cakes were amazing - all this in very picturesque surroundings (we went for a walk after our food). Staff at the Tea Room were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going again xXx

The premises are clean and the produce is all fresh, it is an ideal place to rest for tea and cake etc. It would be nice is there was a few more Sun parasols especially when the sun is full blare. The staff were friendly, quick and efficient, just one moan the young lady serving needs to try and smile a bit more, she reminded me of a RSM on the parade ground very firm.

Very tranquil , pretty , lovely walks either way of the papermill lock , lovely gentle river cruise on the cavelle , very reasonable price for almost an hours ride, beautiful scenery. The tea room is beautiful inside and out , lovely lunch of sandwiches with trimmings and home made cake and tea , totally reccomend it , oh and dogs allowed too xx

Lovely location, yummy selection of gorgeous cakes and a nice stroll along the river to walk them off. (The savoury foods being served did look really good too!) A gorgeous sunny day so busy, but the service was as quick and efficient as it could be in the circumstances. Certainly worth a visit. My only thought was that as it was such a warm day, albeit fairly early in the season (weekend before Easter) it was a pity the barge couldn't have been put into action quickly or at short notice for trips up the river as I think it would have been very popular and potentially lucrative too!

Just popped in by chance as usually very busy, but it was just right being a Thursday. Had a lovely cheese ploughman’s much with loads of cheese,in fact far too much I had to take most of it home, I just wish there had been a bit more bread with so much cheese, but I really enjoyed it and wld go back for more. My son and hubby had toasties and hubby had a cream tea too. There were so many cakes to choose from too but that ploughman’s left me kicking and was just enough. Can’t wait to go again x

Went to Paper Mill Lock for lunch yesterday with family. Tearoom was really busy. Cheese and Ham toasties and cold drinks were lovely. We went on the last boat ride which was cool and breezy on the river. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Stopped at Papermill lock after a Sunday morning walk unfortunately the cafe was closed as it was a bit too early, but I hear the food is good. Charming scenery.

Beautiful place to visit, best toasties,I've ever eaten, and such a tranquil place to be, I love it here, its dog friendly too inside and out,and it's open all year round. They have great helpful staff, they always seem buzy cleaning tables and bringing food out, They also do little boat trips across the bridge, you can't use the tearooms car park though,I'm not sure where the car park is for that,I assume not far away.

Nice views of canal from inside dining area and there's plenty of tables outside too. Food very nice, very basic furnishings, chairs quite hard. Varied choice on menu.

Beautiful surroundings on the river and free parking for customers. All sandwiches are £7 but there is a wide range of toasties. Lovely stop

Visited here with some friends over the weekend, and I must say I can't believe I haven't been here before. What a beautiful location overlooking the Lock while enjoying some afternoon tea and cake definitely recommend.

Great selection of sandwiches (albeit expensive) and cake in a beautiful location alongside the canal, it does get busy during the summer but plenty of seating available and food is brought to your table, the only issue is parking with a £5 parking charge however on road parking can be found on the other side of the bridge but some sections of the road have double yellow lines and on my visit some cars had received a parking ticket so be careful or it could be an expensive day out

Stopped at Paper Mill Lock for refreshments on a hot day walking/hiking a 8 mile circular route. There are picnic tables and benches you can sit on outside, but they are only available to customers. The cakes slices are MASSIVE 😁

Sweet little tea room, daughter loved it. Enjoyed a lovely walk after. It’s a great day out. Great, friendly service. My only complaint is the parking which I am told is not the tearoom’s responsibility.
