We had a wonderful evening on a Friday. The service was excellent , not in your space all the time , just attentive enough. We both had a starter each, I had the pork belly and my wife the scallops. They were both really tasty and enough portion wise for a starter, not to big so as to put you off your main course. As for the main courses they to were really excellent in taste and portion size. I had the fillet of beef , which I asked for medium rare and it was spot on. My wife had fish ,the Stone bass which she loved. We will most certainly be back.
We visited yesterday for the bottomless prosecco lunch. Wonderful experience. Food was amazing and they was very generous with the prosecco. Would highly recommend. We we definitely be visiting again!
Absolutely incredible dining experience. The best food and service I've had in a long time. We have eaten here 20+ times and never had a complaint. If you haven't been then you must come!
We have had many meals and evenings at The New London and it has always been excellent. Wonderful food and we have always been very well looked after by the staff. The new refurb is lovely and the steps that have now been taken to reduce noise is fantastic. It remains one of our favourite restaurants and we cant wait to go back.
Went last Thursday with my hubby and we're blown away by quality of food, service and venue. Way not busy enough for venue if this quality. Would absolutely recommend and will be back. �
Lovely atmosphere and really nice place to spend time eating when you can actually hear each other talking . Most restaurants are noisy with hustle and bustle but this was relaxed and all the staff are so attentive even when they are busy . Fantastic food with a varied menu and excellent selection of wines. Can't wait to go back !
Love the food, lovely atmosphere and service was impeccable as was last time I came here. Will be back soon as not had the chateubriand yet even though I nearly ordered for dessert it looked so nice. Can really recommend this lovely place

One of the best restaurants I have been to. Opted for set menu for 2 people, loved each and every dish. Wonderfully presented and tasted even better. Surprisingly we were the only ones in the restaurant when we walked in on a Thursday afternoon. Highly recommended in Chelmsford. Cheers.
Really enjoyed lunch at the New London in Chelmsford today. We had the chateaubriand which is always excellent but they also have a good plant-based menu. Presentation was very sharp as seen in the photos.

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a little while having seen that it recently been modernised. So as we were meeting friends on Saturday this seemed like an ideal opportunity as Chelmsford is in between where we all live. Set on the outskirts of the town and just a 15 minute stroll from the station in a peaceful part of the town. As we entered we could here a lot of noise the reason being they do a Bottomless Prosecco Lunch deal on a Saturday. I can honestly say that if there was just the two of us I would have apologised but left straight away. But there was four of us so in we went and as it happened by the time we got to our mains the majority had left. Now on to the lunch itself where the food was good as was the service. We started with the white crab meat , the roasted pigeon & the smoked mackerel with a Crispy Hens Egg which were very nicely cooked and presented although the crab meat starter did seem quite small We then moved onto our mains the Maple Pork Loin , the pan fried Chalkstream Trout while two of us had the Roast Lamb Rump together with sides of Truffle Fat Chips & vegetables. All dishes were very good and again nicely cooked and presented Before dessert we decided to share a cheese course which consisted of 8 cheeses from around Britain & Ireland together with crackers , grapes & chutney Now it time to finish with desserts they had a choice of 5 so we decided to order them all a milk chocolate iced parfait , clotted cream pannacotta , the hot ginger cake , lemon drizzle cake & the chocolate fondant which did have a slight issue as it came with a basil sorbet that was quite strong. We informed the waiter who said it was something new that the chef was trying therefore thanked us for our feedback This brought to an end a very nice lunch to which we all enjoyed. If I was to return and as their open all day on Saturday it would be in the afternoon or an evening. But if your a group and a Prosecco Lunch is for you then this a nice restaurant for that as the food and service is good
The bottomless brunch on Saturday afternoons are excellent. Food is delicious and the waiters are very generous with the Prosecco. Great ambiance to the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Lunch from the a la carte menu and we’re very very happy. Not sure if Chelmsford could deliver on a Thursday lunchtime for a birthday. Starter, chateaubriand, tarte Tatin and cheese all better than expected. Thx. Needless to say and wine and port were not bad either!
Wow Sunday lunch was fantastic had the beetroot and blue cheese to start followed by the pork loin with all the trimmings finished with an apple and rhubarb crumble
Washed down with a lovely cold bottle of white sancerre

What a lovely venue. Delicious and punchy cocktails, a genuine welcome from all staff and top class food. Well worth the price, beautifully presented and compliments to the chef. Next time I'll starve myself so I can sample 3 courses! A lovely birthday treat, an asset to Chelmsford.
Impeccable service and delicious 5 star food. We went for a special occasion and it didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for that ‘somewhere special’ in Chelmsford.
