Great gastropub to relax and enjoy a nice meal. We have tried their vegetarian options and they were great. Very friendly to our dog as well.

Visited this pub as was in the area and I was not disappointed,
The service was top notch, the food and wine was superb, dog friendly and overall a great experience,
For starters we had the goats cheese bon bons and the Romanian meatball soup, both very tasty!
For main meals the Bubble and Squeak and the Venison, again absolutely delicious and good portion size,
For pudding we shared a Bakewell tart with custard and a hot chocolate,
If you're in the area this place is a must visit.
A proper pub from my past and now a proper pub with great atmosphere and really good food

Absolutely amazing. Fabulous food and service. I had Rabbit stew which was very tasty and the rabbit was so tender. My wife had the sea bass which she said was superb. Brilliant friendly staff and a very relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
Really great food! I had one of the pies which was really tasty and the salted caramel chocolate truffles, which I'd highly recommend. All the waiters were very friendly and attentive. It was busy and therefore quite loud but we had a nice little nook.
What a lovely pub! We went there this evening with our young border collie pup. Everyone was so welcoming and made our first visit very enjoyable. Lovely people, lovely setting, great menu, relaxing atmosphere, and dog friendly. We will be visiting often. Highly recommend!
Lovely place! Their food is excellent as well as their services . I've been there many times, tried most of the dishes and deserts and definitely I will continue to go. I highly recommend this place if you fancy a delicious lunch/dinner and quality time with friends/ family.

Me and my partner decided to try this restaurant out after seeing lots of good reviews. We ordered the rack of lamb and the steak and kidney pie, which were both absolutely delicious, and arrived quickly! Whilst the prices are a few pounds more than the average pub grub meal, we personally think it is worth it when the quality of food meets the price. Plus, all staff were friendly and engaging, which made this experience a memorable one. As is pretty obvious lol, we highly recommend :)
Great pub dates back to 16th century with new extension. Always as I have remember 33yrs ago when I was student in Reading. Located off A4047 and the drive there is always rewarding with the great view of English countryside to appreciate. Now with great kitchen and menu. Enjoyed the excellent cooking with my family . Friendly owner and staff, will help me keep my fond memory of the lost and found pub from the bikers club 33 yrs ago.
Good food, mostly high end pub food (although a 'rack of lamb' is only three lamb chops!). Well presented and tasty
