Received a really warm welcome from the team at Hinds Head, lovely pub, fantastic selection of drinks. Impressive outside area to enjoy the lovely scenery. Food was tasty, and a varied selection and attentive, but not crowding service. Stayed overnight in a beautiful room, which looked like it has been recently refurbished to a high standard. Pub noise to be expected but midweek wasn't bad at all. Would highly recommend.
Overall the atmosphere was good, the food was good, the service was a little slow but the staff were extremely friendly.
Had blackpudding starter, this was very good and the blackpudding was better than I've had at other places.
I had the lamb shank for main, this was excellent, cooked perfectly and the mash with mint was really well done.
The one minor thing was the apple crumble; the crumble had a strong taste and smell of burn and had black burned pieces. The rest of the crumble was great but this really took away from it.
Been there a few times for lunch ,food is very nice and well presented, all staff are welcoming and friendly, first experience in the very large beer garden and outside bar😀
Fabulous 3 course lunch for £16.95. Generous portions and a fantastic selection of dishes. They offer something different as well as traditional. Lovely and cozy with a real fire. Friendly, attentive staff. Our new favourite restaurant.
A lucky find as the previous pub we called at had a 45 min wait for food. The interior of the pub creates a lovely ambiance relaxing and welcoming to be honest we were taken by suprise as the exterior didn’t give the impression that it would be as classy as it was. Our food from the lunch menu delicious, generous portion size, hot and well presented (tuna jacket and scampi). The staff were friendly, helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble - so nice to see people that enjoy their work.
It was only when leaving that we saw the gorgeous beer garden. Highly recommend a visit here
When I arrived i was quickly shown to my room, when looking around the room was very clean and included toiletries, tea coffee, towels etc with a shower ensuite.. the staff and locals were incredibly friendly especially the guy who was serving behind the bar. The view from the room was incredible and the place itself had a peaceful feel to it with a beer garden with avaliable shade to enjoy the views, I was able to take food and drink to the room as long as I didn't spill it ;), although the pub does seem in the countryside it is 10 min drive from chorley railways Station which was perfect for going to the concert I went to, when the pub is shut at night the rooms are accessible with a secure door via some stairs on the outside, the room keys have a fob provided to be able to open it. After waking i wasn't full of aches and pains which i sometimes get from sleeping in a different bed with my bad back and i did actually struggle to pull myself out of it, all i can say is thank god for the 11am check out time. My only concern is for a single room I was charged £40, for what was provided as well as the service I would of happily paid more
Popped in here as a treat before I photograph a wedding and honestly I made a great choice. Our food was so full of flavour, great portions and the staff were very friendly.
Would definitely return, we sat inside but appreciated the lovely view outside..
Amazing place!
Had a lovely meal here with my friend last night. The food was well presented, fresh and delicious. Service was great, very helpful, friendly staff - Will definitely return.
