We stumbled upon this place during our visit to Charlestown and it was one of the best fish and chips we've had. The batter was light and crisp, the fish meaty and tender and the chips equally tasty and all for a good price with a lovely view over the water. Can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a good fish and chips!
Took a week away to go to Cornwall just out of season, we had just finished up at the Eden Project so decided to head to Charlestown where we came across this delightful food master piece! Had a sneaky review of the place first and after seeing people's reviews, thought, let's do this!
Lovely lady that served us, so genuine and polite. Our table number was called out, we collected out fish finger sandwiches and chips.......... it was really good.
It's simple food done well and the service is good.
If you get the opportunity to visit Charlestown, then don't overlook this place.
Really tasty seafood and delicious chips! We ate here on a warm evening and there was a really lovely atmosphere. We had the local mussels in a cider and bacon sauce and they were delicious and the portion was big! The crab sandwich was also good, but not as special as the mussels. It is pricey, likely around what you may pay in a restaurant, but the quality was very good so I didn't feel ripped off.
The staff/owner? was really friendly and helpful, it being very popular there was a long wait for food but she made everyone aware before they ordered and the wait was pretty accurate.
Great food, exactly what I needed at the end of a long Cornish trip. The Fish was fantastic and so was the chips. The area in which it is perched is perfect right on Charlestown's historic harbour worth a visit.
Took about 20 mins but all her tables were full.
Absolutely delicious food and hands-down the best chips we have ever had (no, that's not just an expression).
We were staying nearby and fancied popping out somewhere local for tea. The Charlestown Fish Co did not disappoint. When we arrived, there were a few people already sat outside eating. I spoke to Tracey and mentioned that, thanks to multiple review photos and the amazing choices on offer, I didn't know what to have. She suggested the mussels and chips as I said I had not tried these before. She also pointed out that, if I turned around 180 degrees, you could see the mussel traps out in the distance (see photos). You literally can't get more local than that!!
The mussels were absolutely and my wife adored the crab meat in the focaccia roll. The chips were easily the best we have both ever had.
Amazing service by all three members of staff there today (sorry I didn't get your names). We will DEFINITELY be back. As other reviews have indicated, it is slightly on the pricey side but I'd say this is more than worth it, as it's not your big standard fish and chips.
Delicious seafood, fantastic service and the most beautiful setting. We had Pil Pil king prawns and cod & chips. The best places to eat in Charlestown.
That was the best fish and chips I've had in my life (and I've had a few). The batter is crispy. The fish was soft and flaky and perfectly cooked. Absoutely delicious and top notch.
Tucking into our fish and chips in the open-air ambience of the harbour is very very hard to beat.
And Dave, owner-chef was friendly and we had a nice chat. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
Amazing seafood! Some of the biggest and freshest muscles I have eaten.
The fish and chips are also amazing served with the best curry sauce I have had.
While you wait for the food you can sit, grab a drink and enjoy the wonderful views of Charlestown.
Great service and food, could not recommend enough.
Amazing fresh seafood and on the harbour in Charlestown. A must visit if you’re in the area. Mussels in particular were amazing, and super fresh, from just a mile from the harbour! Staff very friendly also.
I had mussels, they were incredible. Service was greet. Food great. Just great. Thanks for a lovely evening!!
